AHPC 9 Donnybrook - The Last Farewell

Another entry from me today and yes its more Donnybrook!!!These figures are from a set from Col Bills called 17thc Soldiers FarewellHere's the original look of the figures, obviously they're ECW figures, butI did a bit of snipping, filing and gluing. Adding a bit of greenstuff, making cuffs andelongating coats. To change them from ECW to soldiers from the 1690'sI'm very pleased how they turned out to be honest. These Col Bill's figures should earned me 35 points lifting me upinto 9th....yes 9th place!!!

My Unofficial Battlegroup: Cold War - UPDATED - Norwegian Mechanised & Infantry Battlegroups

Recently I was contacted on the Battlegroup NORTHAG Development Forum by Kit Hohler (known as Eukie on that forum) who had numerous suggestions and corrections for my original Norwegian List.So now with his invaluable assistance I've been able to seriously update the list which should be quite a bit more historically correct.  It has a couple of new infantry options and some new vehicles.  Kit also helped sort of my Norwegian Leopard mistakes. As the list was now looking so good I thought it was about time that I had a crack at writing up a more defined "Home Turf" special rule.  It gives you the option of moving a couple of pieces of terrain (hopefully to represent units intimately familiar with their surroundings being able to choose the piece of ground they wish to fight on) or add +1D6 to the forces overall BR.  Obviously this needs to be tested to see what impact it has on the game. Finally I'll be updating the Norwegian AFV Data Table to reflect the fixes and additions over t

Back to the Brushes 213

A work in update on some 28mm Undead figures from Mithril Miniatures and Citadel.Top left is a Mithril Miniatures Wight. Base coated white then painted with Technical paint Nighthaunt Gloom. The dried figure has then been worked upto what you see using the Gloom paint mixed with white. Bloody marvelous effect can be obtained here. Citadel really need to expand this range as this really does give good results. Top right and bottom left shows two Citadel wights. Both have been painted using layers. The top figure using Vallejo Game Colours Scruvy, Jade and Foul Green with a final touch of white added in. The second wight has been using Foundry Teal AB & C again with some white added as a final highlight. Lastly some Citadel Skeleton base coated in Army Painter Skeleton Bone waiting for the next stage of painting. Some other pieces are nearing completion and will hopefully be shown in the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge next week. Hmmm, some of the pics could be better. Chee

Exo Armour Scrunts

I know it is the last day of January and I know the Exo Armour Kickstarter was not due to deliver until February, but it has arrive today, early I tell you. If only all other Kickstarters would take note. Of course this does now present me with a problem, my well thought out modelling and painting schedule has now been jeopardised and I need to rush these to the top of the pile. With a bit of luck, the promised snow will arrive tonight, grinding the entire UK to a halt and I will be forced to stay at home, and stick models together over the weekend.

January Gaming + CanCon

Good times with friends Looking back on my January hobby month I was struck by the variety of games I have played, many of which were new to me, and all of which were big, multiplayer games. And also that I kept getting invited too :-) General d'Armee (2 x 2) French vs Anglo-Spanish My first foray with these rules, hosted by Aled and his dad, which I really enjoyed.  Slowpainter John and I ended up facing off on an action packed flank and it came right down to the wire. Slaughterloo (3 x 3) This fun game is a tongue in cheek Napoleonic big battle in a fantasy setting - good fun but also very god rules which would work equally well for historical games. All sorts of mixups and mayhem, and we converged on Slowpainter John's Orc Guarde with a singular purpose - and tough buggers they were too! The Battle lines are Drawn! The Advance to contact! The last stand of John's Orc Guarde - sandwiched between my Flank attack and Marty's Cavalry charge Dragon Rampant (4 x 4 with a twist!) A
