Reject HQ saw two battles over the weekend when I faced off against Mr Rousell (of Don't throw a One fame) in a set of linked games set in the seven years war. Postie has been running a few games like this recently, with a smaller game determining advantage to the winner in the second game, and it made for an interesting days gaming. The SetupAs usual, we started by picking out of a metaphorical hat for sides, and I got the Russians while Ray would be the Prussians. I was clearly going to have my work cut out fighting a more experienced player and a better army (+1 morale rating for most of their troops, because they are better trained). I wasn't going to make it easy for Ray and if the dice gods looked on me favourably I might just pull off a win.... I'm all for positive thinking! Only two Rejects made it to last Sunday's game, BigLee and myself. We picked out the hat not even knowing what game or period we were playing. Lee picked first and Picked the Russians, I picked out the Prussians. We entered the Shed O War to find 2 games ready and waiting, the first being a small sideline game, the Battle of Schwedt Wood 12th August 1758.Both sides had 3 cavalry unitsMy Prussians Reconnaissance force consisted of2nd Hussars4th Hussars& Bosniak Lancers pictured above.Lee's Russian force consisted ofJolty Hussars (pictured in the main pic of this post) I painted these beauties in around 1995!!Slobodski HussarsCossacksWe were testing out a new set of Posties rules, so neither of us new exactly how the game would play out. Each unit had a card, which Postie turned over, Lee declined to move first turn so it was up to me. I deliberately kept my Bosniaks back a little.Lee declined to move again, so I moved up again, to within around 4 inches.Lee's card came out next and he initiated a charg
My next 15mm Cyberpunk Scifi terrain stl 3D print set is finished and available in my store:Doctor Merkury’s LabThis set contains 3 building floors, 3 vendor stands, a roof access and a cargo container stl.The following are some pictures of the stl files printed in PLA and painted. This set is intended to be a futuristic take on the classic brownstone. I leaned toward Brutalism as this is how I view a lot of Cyberpunk. The building floors are interchangeable with Pack one for even more variety. The Merco Corp initiates a lockdown after a bombing at the Corporate HQ.Street level view. The roof access. It’s a separate piece so it can be used for even a street access to the subway or another building. And can be used with other building packs.Front doorThe floors can also have models inside and stack.Cargo containers. Multiple prints for a mech barricade.Street is closed.Cargo containers make great block fillers too.Providing hard cover. As well as mech cover. The rear of the building.Meanwhile gangers raid the v
I've opened up a shop on drivethrurpg:The Lab StoreTo sell some models I've been making as well as raise funds for future projects. Circle of life!I will still continue to post some pieces on Thingiverse, more pieces for conversions etc, but decided I would give a go at selling the .stls themselves.Currently the project I've been working on is 15mm Cyberpunk terrain for Reality's Edge, but truthfully speaking I can see this also getting use for my 15mm Mech combat games as well. The first and starter set. This contains a street light, trash bin, CAT and a roof access piece as well as 3 building floors and signage. The floors stack and the signs can be arranged a number of different ways to give you a lot of variety in just this set alone.Adding to this, is the next set coming:This set contains double sided signs that fit with all of the existing sets. Also included is a Crowd Marker that can be printed to create some generic crowds in your Cyber city.Set 2 will be released shortly. &nbs
Yesterday was the last day of the current 30 Days 30 Miniatures Painting Challenge; which earlier this week looked like it was not going to happen.A last push at the finish line made the following possible:First up are Confederates from Old Glory. These 15mm figures are animated and characterful; just what you need for charging the Union lines.Next, an old mid nineties skeleton from Citadel or Marauder Miniatures. A great figure to paint, perfect for finishing off a painting challenge.Completed this challenge:Day 30 - 34 figures completed.Cheers for now
.....from Alternative Armies!Got these sent to me by a friend earlier in the year but they had remained on the resin pile for quite a while but my friend Daniel who is a big Star Wars Legion fan and who was in a painting slump at the time, so I ended up painting a Fleet Trooper unit for him earlier this year and recently he was looking for a drastic change in his painting queue and hey presto I got these done.......They are from Alternative Armies and could be used for other periods as well as Fantasy.........I like his painting skill (he's a damn good painter) and it gives a boost to a little painting slump or lethargy!Figure is a 15mm Battle Valor villager for scale help, picture quality is the usual clusterfeck.....Nicely done Daniel, he may need more drastic changes in his painting queue........Do they require basing? The Legion fleet troopers in question.........
I wanted another Book 4 army, something that would play differently to the Ottomans, something medieval, something with knights.. why? I've always fancied an army with knights. So, French Ordonnance IV 82b .. finally pretty much finished. I am still considering some banners, pennants, guidons.. or whatever the correct name is. These are Essex 15mm Miniatures
And..... I'm back! I could give you all sorts of quite lengthy, detailed and for the most part genuine excuses for where I have been for the last few months but that just seems like a lot of effort.Instead I'm going to pretend the blog was misbehaving technically somehow and we can all go back to doing whatever seems fun and pretend that never happened. Sound good? Excellent! In the words of Mel Bose the Terrain Tutor... Lets crack on!So anyway, I actually have been doing quite a bit, it just hasn't made it as far as the computer and consequently not onto the blog. Of late I have become quite frustrated by the lack of face-to-face gaming time.Consequently I've embarked on a pretty in-depth solo project using 15mm fantasy armies and Bob Cordery's excellent Portable Wargame rules which I have now read several times over, plus the accompanying volumes. There is currently no PW fantasy variant documented by Bob, although a few fellow enthusiasts have done some bits and bobs (no pun intended). To fill the
Another quick up date and another three Arab archers from Essex Miniatures.Day 15 - 11 figures completedMore to follow shortly.Cheers for now.
.......Armoured Trolls!More 15mm fantasy/medieval shenanigans......A unit of Rayonian City State Militia from Demonworld, first unit from the despicable tyrants forces for Dragon Rampant with more to follow........The trolls are from Khurasan......Some nice stuff in this just released kickstarter and 15mm too plus it goes on sale for other mortals in October I believe, lots of plastic 15mm figures and scenery..........
Been a hectic the last few days of this week and as a result the updates have slowed down.So here is a quick post to change that:Three 15mm Arab archers from Essex Miniatures.A few more of these to follow shortly.Day 11 - 8 figures completedCheers for now.
Last Thursday we had another Rebels and Patriots game. Most of the players complain about statistics for Indians with these rules and especially when they were given to me (what not everyone knows is that, for about 10 years, back in my home country, I was doing the Native American Reenactment). During our last game, we decided that the next one I will play against Indians and therefore we had our game.W ostatni czwartek mieliśmy kolejne spotkanie z zasadami Rebels and Patriots. Podczas naszej poprzedniej gry ustaliliśmy, że to ja będę grał przeciw Indianom i stąd nasza gra.SCENARIO/SCENARIUSZ: Mike EvansUMPIRING/PROWADZENIE GRY: Mike EvansSCENERY/SCENERIA: Mike Evans, Michael Schneider, SESWCFIGURES & MODELS/FIGURKI I M
