28mm Cobra

28mm H.E.A.T. Viper

While many Cobra soldiers might not be able to share the skill level of one G.I. Joe specialist, many of them make up for their deficiency by incorporating some form of stealth technology to supplement their function in the battlefield. The H.E.A.T. Viper is one such Cobra. His rocket launcher is incorporated with heat suppression technology which allows him to escape infrared detection. His helmet is linked to a sophisticated targeting system that essentially takes care of locking on to the target, estimating range and trajectory and image intensification. Some MOBAT huntingOne down!Moving to next target.Better make sure you got the crew next time!Drop that rocket launcher!More to come,Doc

Terror at the Top of the World! 28mm Pulp 80's Survival Horror game

October is great time for some Table Top Horror themed games to be run and what better genre than in the Pulp 1980s.This scenario is a mash up of sorts, combining a Horror movie with the 80's action stars of GI JOE and I think it works, especially giving a little nod to Cobra-La and it's Bio Horrors that have existed before man, hidden in the ice...The game begins with the players at the end of the table, there aircraft downed by a firefight above.  In front of them lays an abandoned Cobra facility, or is it?The Factions, Joe and Cobra are on opposite sides but both must commandeer a vehicle on the other end of the table to escape. Each player gets 2 Characters, no Ninjas.  Below is the list I usedJoesCobraAce and SnowjobDestro and The BaronessWild Bill and IcebergKwinn and Dr. MindbenderLift Ticket and LifelineTomax and XamotScarlett and RoadblockCrystal Ball and Wild WeaselObjectivesSecure an operational vehicle and escape off a table edge.Victory PointsEach Character Escaped = 5 VPEach Discovery M

An airplane can be launched from its aft.It first appeared in Issue 8 of GI Joe A Real American Hero. This model was sculpted by Jabberwock on Thingiverse.  I brought the model into Tinkercad, scaled it to 28mm and detailed it and parsed it into sections to make it print easier.A close up. I used pastels and dry brushing to create the weathering and the drain offs on the hull.Prow gunCopperhead and Cobra Commander on the deckSea sleds deploy from the aft.Well prepare to diveCobra Bathysphere preparing to be loweredThe SRV-9 can be used for clandestine actionsAll hands on deckSize comparison shot beside a morayThe SRV-9 is a special operations craftAble to be used for insertions as well as researchA size comparison with the Cobra UrchinMore to come,Doc

Expanding my Cobra watercraft with a piece that was only featured in the cartoon and never made into a toy. The Cobra Urchin. The Urchin is classified as a torpedo boat but with twin autocannons, shallow hull and 4 x twin 50 cals it also functions as an assault barge.I created the model in Tinkercad using reference images from the GI Joe cartoons and then had it printed in PLA.The Cobra flotilla our in forceTwin auto cannons to pound the shoreCopper head and some Viper divers on deckA regular Viper spots from one of the twin 50sA big vessel, crew is not noted in the cartoon, but I’m thinking 6.Turbine enginesOnboard the Arbco Star the Cobra Bathysphere is loaded for deep water operations with some Eels being reviewed by the Baroness More Viper Divers on the deckMaybe the Eels are the ones reviewingCopperhead is Captain if this Urchin Detail shotAnother view for scale.Special thanks to Tim Spakowski of Footsore North America miniatures for printing it for me.More to come,Doc

28mm HISS V

Adding to my 28mm 1980s Pulp I wanted to add some of the more modern vehicles and so I sculpted the HISS V for 3D printing. These files I have corrected and the modified over time to create a better mode for everyone to print.HISS VThe HISS V was a departure from the previous designs and stands out as a unique model.  Combining the speed of the original HISS with a variety of different weapons and a single crew make it a deadly option.I wanted more forces for my Iron Grenadiers, so I painted mine in their colors. These are printed in PLAThe weapons are interchangeable, you could swap out to create custom variants. In game these AFVs are capable of elevating for better targeting and firing.Back view. This is the twin sponson hull variant.Side view. These models use sockets to connect all the parts. The weapons are interchangeable The turret hull variant. This was requested by the infamous Reginald Stumblecoc the 4th and so was made. The rocket pods use the same connection as the sponson weapons of the oth

“Put it over there by the braziers...”

Every evil mastermind needs a well decorated secret lair, and. Cobra Commander is no exception. In the various interpretations of the most brand conscious evil terrorist group you see a wide array of decor. Medieval, nouveau, Art Deco, brutalist, it’s all there. Drawing from some of these I made a backdrop for throne room fun in Tinkercad and then had it printed in PLA.If you would like a print of your own, the file is available from me here:https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3373896More to come,Doc
