Genestealer Cult - Mindslaves

Lately I've been mulling over the old tyranid list from White Dwarf 145. There are several entries in there I'd love to paint. Zoats, mindslaves, squigs and the old plastic tyranids. Seeing as I'm already doing a genestealer cult this list has caught me by the hobby. You know how it is.I can run many of these units in modern 40k or Killteam. The first unit that piqued my interest was the mindslaves:In its larval stage the parasitic Mind-Slaver feeds upon the Tyranid's captives. It burrows into the victim's skull and searches for the brain stem. Here it clasps in place with its legs and attaches itself to the base of the brain. At first the immature creature is not powerful enough to influence its host but, as it feeds from the blood stream, it becomes stronger, allowing it to take over and direct all of the creature's higher brain functions. These victims are known as mind slaves. Although they are captives, their actions and thoughts are completely controlled by the Tyranids. If the ship is attacked, the mind

40k – Genestealer Cult Neophytes

Genestealer Cult is one of my favorite armies in the Warhammer 40,000. It has an excellent climate, beautiful models and strong support from the publisher. In today’s entry I would like to present you a lot of models of Neophytes. It is a basic unit in the ranks of mysterious organizations, which hide inside the imperial worlds. Armed with rifles, drills and lasers, in the climax of the moment they will strike the positions of the Emperor’s loyal forces to support Tyranids attack. I invite you to view the extended gallery below. There is one more post ahead of us before the final! Commission painting services – minisforwar@gmail.com OR message on Facebook

Lelith Hesperax and Dwarf Wizards

The painting pace slowed a bit this weekend. I had to take a bit of a break. I was tiring of the Hellions (and Drukhari in general) so I splashed a bit of paint on a few other things and I even managed to finish up a few of thems Saturday evening! (I often keep a few other things around the workbench for just such an occasion - when I want to paint something but just getting sick of what I've been working on).Lelith Hesperax - a Drukhari named character. Lelith is a succubus of the Cult of Strife. She'll probably end up being used as a "Counts As.." mini in a detachment using the Cult of Strife rules. This may or may not be used in the upcoming tournament. I may finish up one of the regular generic Succubi for the force Finnegan's going to use.Dwarf wizards from Lead Adventure Miniatures. I actually painted the female wizard some time ago, but repainted her dress as I didn't like the colour. It was originally painted blue, but that just wasn't working for me (and besides, I also painted another pair of Dwarf W

Terrain is everything - TT Combat Gothic Ruins MDF kit - the inner sanctum.

Now that the Sanctum Imperialis is complete I should probably be putting this ruin kit in that big pile of projects that were fun at the time but really too much to do just at the moment.Well I thought there was no harm in laying down some brown where the verdigris would go, I'm not even bothering with Warplock Bronze, it just isn't going to be seen. Wasn't sure about the crenalated battlement being coppery...?I did add a bit of gold into the mix so there was some metallics, not entirely sure I should have bothered with it on the windows - it's just going to be a pain to do but nevermind. And inside just a quick coat of cream paint.Ready for the burnt umber next......unless I see sense and leave this and go back to something smaller! ;)

40k – Genestealer Cult / Broodlord and Aberrants

One of our old jobs that’s still worth showing for. This is part of a large army of Genocult, whose units you could see in the previous posts. There are two more posts ahead of us, in which you will see Neophyte troops and a showcase of the whole army. On the photos you can see a large group of Aberrants and another Broodlord. The orange and purple scheme fits perfectly with these models and highlights all the cool details prepared by Games Workshop I hope you will like the miniatures. In June you can expect an entry every two days so stay tuned! Commission painting services – minisforwar@gmail.com OR message on Facebook

Hellions

The first batch of Hellions... I'm falling a bit behind my original schedule. I still have 42 minis to paint and 21 days to paint them in... that's two a day... 14 per week. Iv'e done that before... I could still get them done....a Murderpack of ten hellions from Games Workshop. These guys (gals?) seem like they'll be fun...They're a little on the tippy side, and there are going to be a LOT of them, so I've been thinking about possibly making some little movement trays for them.Coming Soon to Tim's Miniature Wargaming Blog:May GamesMore Drukhari

Army on Parade - 009

Special Weapons - Cadian Each Cadian squad is normally equipped with at least one special weapon. One favourite of the regiment at the moment is the flamer. The current planet they are operating on as a wealth of fauna and flora ... it has some large leaved growth and trees that limit line of sight and general vision. The flamer is ideal for clearing spaces and is also quite handy in emptying pockets of resistance, clearing out defended hard points and bunkers and generally really really putting the enemy off from approaching you.

Deathshroud Terminators! I LIVE!!

The Death Guard have shambled back onto my painting desk with a trio of Deathshroud Terminators.I'm not dead nor have I forgotten about this blog. Over the last month things have just been a little hectic with travel, some sickness, and general craziness in life. I managed to get more gaming in of late than painting, and what I've been nattering away on hasn't been stuff that'd make a super compelling blog post... unless there is a big clamor to see Reaver Titan weapon arms and I've missed it.Over the course of the last few weeks, I've tackled an elite unit for my Death Guard army - the Deathshroud Bodyguard. These guys will add some really nice punch to the melee element of my army, as well as increase the survivability of my HQs. And they are fun, corpulent balls of crazy! These guys will pair well with my Lord of Contagion, Enoch Globulus. These are great sculpts with lots of options in the kit.I'm sure the decision of doing golden scythes isn't for everyone - butI thought they added a feeling of age t

Genestealer Cult - The Saviour

The blessed ones are revered by the Wyrm-Forged, as it should be. They are purity of form made manifest, unburdened by the weaknesses of mankind. They are, in the whole, aloof, and unconcerned by the travails of their lesser brethren. However, some do appear to favour their kin more than others, none more so than the one known as the saviour. The Yogoth kin are well known among the Kabeiri. Many of their number bearing the unmistakable mark of the coiled hunter. (This variant of genestealer is known as the Ymgarl strain to the adepts of the Ordo Xenos.) This particularly strong trait is even known to appear in the 3rd generation. The Saviour is broodfather to the current cycle of the Yogoth, and through some quirk of the gene-cycle is uncharacteristically protective of its hybrid offspring. So much so that it famously interposed itself between its great-grandson, Eldir, and the plasma pistol of Inquisitor Krasek. Leaping in front of the gush of plasma, one of the saviour's arms was incinerated in the blas
