I Graciously Welcome Our New Overlords - of the Kharadon Variety

Age of Sigmar – The warbands of Warhammer Underworlds have been very fun to paint. The small model count is just enough to get a taste for what the faction looks like without being totally invested in a huge amount of models. It seems like the game plays quickly and is easy to pick up and fill in downtime during regular game nights. Thundrick’s Profiteers is the latest warband to cross my painting table. While I’m not reall interested in Age of Sigmar myself these models sure are temp

Today is the release day of the newest boxed set within the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Universe - Warcry! Heralds or War - More Khorne Daemons

Age of Sigmar – The Chaos Daemon range has been in dire need of some new plastic kits for quite some time. Luckily for Khorne and Slaanesh players Games Workshop delivered with some gorgeous new plastic kits. This batch follows the same paint scheme as the Flesh Hounds I painted last week. I’m pretty happy with how the red contrast paint is working out. While it doesn’t save me much time the effect is pretty cool.

Warhammer Underworlds - Ylthari's Guardians - TO DONE!

Ylthari's Guardians - TO DONE!Lets start with Ylthari, admittedly my least favourite, and still so, but she came good in the end. The tree sprite is cute, vines were defined and the dark wood is alright but her face didn't quite work for me and I couldn't quite get the detail I was after.Still, I'm far from disappointed, in fact I'm really quite pleased with the result as she was so far behind compared to the other 3 and I just couldn't see the vines working.Admittedly I haven't done much to them to make them 'work' but just the basic application of the highlights to the washed and glazed base coat has managed to lift it out of the realm of mediocrity. The Silver Birch bark markings on her wand/staff worked out nicely too.Horny Dude aka - Skhathael. What works - sword, [possibly] horns, hair and skin. What I'm dubious about is his bark loin cloth and his face. The horns are reminiscent of Silver Birch thanks to the bark splits but because they're obviously horns it's a little confusing - like p

Terrain, Travel and Birthdays!

I am currently working on a couple of terrain pieces, that will follow my Warcry review. Among them is the Sigmarite Dais and the Azyrite Townscape, that will go great with the terrain from the Warcry starter kit. I started with the Sigmarite Dais, a round temple base, that I primed black and gave a […]

Endless Spells - Making Magic

Age of Sigmar – It’s getting hot in here. Endless spells are the latest edition to Age of Sigmar. Buy a special kit of models and your army gains access to some very powerful magic spells or effects. Once cast these stay on the table and wreck all kinds of havoc. The first two sets I was asked to paint are the Fyre Slayers and the Stormcast Eternals. The fire spells were pretty simple to do using the fluorescent paint techniques I’ve discussed in previous posts.

Let’s Paint! – Age of Sigmar WARCRY! Scenery

Hey everybody, it’s time for the first in what will likely be a sporadic series called Let’s Paint! Basically, when something comes along that I get asked enough, I MIGHT make a video on painting it. In this case I was bombarded by questions on how I painted up the WARCRY terrain so quickly, so here’s a rundown.

Games Workshop Everchosen – Lotann Warden of the Soul Ledgers

Finally I managed to complete my Lotann, Warden of the Soul Ledgers for the Games workshop Everchosen competition. Been an exciting and interesting experience. I will talk about the details in the next post. Meanwhile, here my entry for the Everchosen 2019, Lotann, Warden of the Soul Ledgers. Description of the entry : With the ethersea rolling in, Lotann in his shinning bluish armour (see pict) and his silent soul screaming robe (see pict) stood on the moss and algae covered sacred ground (see pict) to enumerate his list of countless souls arrested from the relentless tide of battles. His Ochtar wiggled around him, dripping droplet of water (see pict) all over the moss and algae sacred ground, and readied its rusted blade and cudgel (see pict) to defend its master while he accounts for the souls harvested.
