The current 'big thing' in anime, and a very enjoyable series, made it's theatrical debut in the summer of 2018.So I sat down with Noshi, who also likes the series, to watch the first movie before the 4th season kicks off later this year.Deku and All Might receive an invitation to I-Expo, the world’s leading exhibition of Quirk abilities and hero item innovations! Amid the excitement, sponsors, and pros from all over, Deku meets Melissa, a girl who is Quirkless just like he once was. Suddenly, I-Expo’s top-of-the-line security system gets hacked by villains, and a sinister plan is set in motion. It’s a serious threat to hero society, and one man holds the key to it all—the symbol of peace, All Might. That girl, Melissa, is actually the daughter of professor David Shield. The scientist who worked and help shape All Might back in his youthfull days when working in the United States, this is a story about transition of generations and the full 'reveal' to his classmates of Deku and his One for All po
While we will probably never see a second season of this great anime series, there was an OVA released as well from it.Called Akai Knife Tsukai, it follows Senji in his days before being incarcerated in deadman Wonderland, when he works as a police officer. Two years after the catastrophic tidal wave that swept over Japan, police officer Kiyomasa Senji is trying to make the world a safer place. Using his Branch of Sin powers, he stops criminals in whatever ways he can. After rescuing a boy named Izuru Tsukiyoshi from a gang called Goreless Peace, the conflict between Kiyomasa and his adversaries heats up rapidly, to the point of being explosive.Offering a glimpse into the past of the future Deadman, the story follows Senji, helping to further develop the reasoning that drives his actions later in life.A one episode of 20+ minutes story, this does give some insight, though it doesn't tell exactly how he got incarcerated. Though it does give a hint at how his clock got ticking...
Now on Netflix, me and Noshi sat down to watch this 12 episode series that has been on my to watch list ever since 2011.And it was worth the wait for sure! When his classroom is attacked by a mysterious Red Man, Ganta, the only surviving student, is sentenced to death in the amusement park based prison Deadman Wonderland. Here he has to try to survive in a series of cruel games, all for the amusement of the people. He soon learns he has a special power now just like all the other "deadman", in that he can use his blood as a weapon, an ability called Branch of Sin. A mysterious girl, Shiro, takes a liking to him and protects him in jail, but soon he remembers he knew her as a child and that they had a special bond.In the prison a special project, called Wretched Egg, is being developped as well, and it seems Shiro is at the center of it for some reason, unknown to both her and Ganta. While this project keeps developping, Ganta joins a resistance movement which tries to break out from the cruel

The newest thing on Netflix, and one I recommended to collegues and all, is this series compromised of small animation episodes. All standing loose of each other, and in a variation of styles, it contains some great episodes. While rated 18+ due to the odd boob left or right, the anthology always handles one of the three themes of the title. For me, the best episodes of the 18 long series, was Sonnie's Edge, Zima Blue, Beyond the Aquila Rift and best of all Good Hunting, featuring a Huli Jing and the transitition from the age of legends to the age of technology.Very enjoyable, these short episodes are truly worth the time to go through, and with the short and varied theme's and episodes, it never becomes a drag and before you know it, you've seen the whole series.A lovely find for sure!
You would think that finding matching colors for the hull and deck of the Super Battleship Yamato is a pretty straightforward exercise. Then again, I tend to overcomplicate things by overthinking solutions to problems arising out of extensive research. And so it was with the Yamato. Over the years there have been quite a few versions of this iconic anime spaceship. They can be largely grouped

It has been a long time coming, this project on anime's most iconic space-faring vehicle - the Space Battleship Yamato. Specifically, the version that I plan to assemble and paint as my first attempt at modelling the United Nations Cosmo Navy's most formidable warship in the year 2199 is the one on its way back to Earth from planet Iscandar, which is the destination of its maiden voyage. At this
Aired back in 2013, The Devil is a Part-Timer is based on a light novel of the same name, and is just an hilarious series.Because, if you where Satan, defeated and forced to flee to modern day Nippon, how would you rebuild your magic and status? Of course, by starting to work at McRonald's and try to dominate the world from there...This results however in him creating friendship bonds, first and foremost with co-worker Chiho, but also with his sworn enemy who followed him here, the Hero of Ente Isla, Emi. She just can't wrap her head around the fact that Satan is actually enjoying his time and tries to help people where he can, even going to public clean-ups.As they constantly confront and control each other, well, mostly Emi on Maou though, are being attacked by a few entities during their adventure and exploration together, but this only results in her getting more and more confused about the fact that the devil might not even have a plan at all, nor any ambition on returning to his home dimensi
Godly relief! In the same week that trailer came out for the horrific Netflix adaption of Saint Seiya, the newest anime in the franchise aired as well. And luckily, this is a lot more intresting, based on the manga who follow (more or less) the timeline of the original series. The Saintias are the hand maidens of Athena, and perhaps this is in one go my biggest gripe with the series. You see, originally Saori didn't realise she was Athena until somewhere in the Silver Saint arc, but here she already is aware while still organising the Galaxian Wars. The story follows Shoko, a young girl born under a bad star and destined to become the host vessel for Eris. however, at a young age she and her sister where saved by the intervention of Milo of Scorpio, and he did save her life even though that went against his orders. Later on, the godess returns, but Shoko's sister instead sacrifices herself to protect her sister. This leads to Shoko donning her sisters Equleus cloth instead, and set out to

Taking place after the second season, and before the recently started third one (at last), me and Noshi sat down to watch this very fun harem anime's latest instalment.Though I am convinced she wants to adopt Yoshino in the meantime...One day, Shido and the girls are enjoying Miku's latest concert, but on the train home he notices a strange blonde girl. When morning comes, he sees a large orb over the city, but apparently he is the only one able to.Investigations learn that this is an orb made of the jealousy energy of the spirits upon each other, as they all are in love with him. To break up the orb as such, he must go on individual dates with all of the girls, but he keeps seeing the blonde girl everywhere. She turns out to be a creation of the orb to see if he is worthy of storing the spirit energies, and as such is in love with him as well. Her jealousy however causes her angel to go berserk and they must all stand together to defeat him...An enjoyable movie, with a dramatic finale albeit not a
