Black Site Studios

Impressions: Black Site Studios – War Zone Arabia

As a man with a sizeable collection of unpainted MDF, making it tabletop ready requires a big chunk of time and special techniques to get it ready for the tabletop. Between getting the right texture on and making sure the Agrax is deployed enough without bankrupting you, it does all build up. So the idea of purchasing pre-painted MDF can be pretty attractive. There are a few companies doing it but the selection for gaming in the Middle East or North Africa is pretty limited. Luckily, Black Site Studios in the US have kicked off their War Zone Arabia range, bringing a load of buildings to fit the Middle Eastern zone. Spectre Miniatures were offering a pre-order on their products in the UK for a limited time and I just had to pick up a trio to try out. First of all, let’s talk the basics. All the buildings arrive in a mixture of MDF and greyboard, laser-cut into pieces and ready to be popped from the sprue. Most of the building Sprue removed was relatively easy, although I did find a good f

BMG: Black Site Studios "Park Benches 1"

Part of my recent order from Back Site Studios, I included a set (4) of their Suburbia Park Benches.  I wanted to get these benches to help fill put some of the grassy areas on one of our BMG gaming mats, the open grassy area felt to plain and thought these would help a bit.Painting Points: 8** assembly time

BMG: Black Site Studios "City Bus Stop 2"

Along with the Industrial Dumpsters that were posted yesterday, I had ordered more items from Black Site Studios.  I had to purchase another City Bus Stop to go along with one I assembled last month, one bus stop was not enough for the city of Gotham.I still have a few more items left to assemble from my order, but those may wait till next week.Painting Points: 10** assembly time

BMG: Black Site Studios "Industrial Dumpsters 3"

When I went to build my second set of Industrial Dumpsters from Black Site Studios, I did not realize when I ordered them that they come in sets of 2 (I had forgotten), so instead of ordering 2 Dumpsters, I ended up with 4....the more the better. Here are Industrial Dumpsters #'s 5 & 6. (6 Dumpsters will really help out the table with terrain).Painting Points: 10** assembly time

BMG: Black Site Studios "Industrial Dumpsters 2"

I really like my Industrial Dumpsters from Black Site Studios so much that I went and ahead and ordered some more.  When playing on a city themed mat, I really like to have the board filled up as much as possible, grant it the dumpsters may not be used that much in a game (the occasional Ping! roll) but they help fill out the gaming mat with terrain.Painting Points: 10** assembly time

BMG: Black Site Studios City Bus Stop

Along with the Industrial Dumpsters that were posted yesterday, I did make one more purchase from Black Site Studios at AdeptiCon 2019, and it was for one of their City Bus Stops (I probably should have bought 1-2 more for the city mat, but I was not thinking at the time), anyways we will start out with 1 for now.Painting Points: 10** assembly time

BMG: Black Site Studios Industrial Dumpsters

While shopping the vendor hall at AdeptiCon this year, we came across a vendor called Black Site Studios and they were selling pre-painted terrain.  Most of my terrain these days are 2D for Warmachine/Hordes and Guild Ball, but we still use 3D terrain for playing the Batman Miniature Game, so my son and I decided to take a look. They had some very impressive buildings that we could use, but I still have a few buildings on my shelf from 4Ground that are not yet assembled, once I get those assembled and placed on our mat, I can get a better idea of what is still needed.  I did notice a few smaller pieces that we could use now, and one of the items is a set of Industrial Dumpsters.  I just got these assembled and in time for another BMG demo game this weekend.Painting Points: 10** assembly time
