Burning Light Campaign

Ranger of Shadow Deep, Mission : Burning Light. Scenario B: The Ruined Chapel

PROLOGUEBlackwulf’s report- no clues in the courtyard as to the Decanters location, just many undead. The fountain statues hand that seemed to point toward library was sheared off. Noises from the Chapel have our attention, we search there next. It seems as if the creatures from the Shadow Deep may have first entered here..the Stench of Death is strong. From what we have seen there are likely no survivors. This report is a complete play-throughAll die rolls are shown as (x) all combat rolls are shown as (x,x) with the heroes roll always being first.Correctionsit was pointed out to me (by the games author no less) that I was interpreting the use of the event deck incorrectly. Only two shadow deep cards are added each scenario, but each time its next consecutive two cards from the shadow deep event list so you remove the previous cards . so for this 9 turn mission we have 8 events , 6 scenario based events and 5thand 6th card from the Shadow Deep event deck.Pre Game NotesBoard is scaled down to 20 “x 20 “

Rangers of Shadow Deep, Mission: Burning Light. Scenario C: The Courtyard.

PROLOGUE Before entering the courtyard Blackwulf is given the Lorenthian messengers satchel recovered by Sigurd. Blackwulf attempts to read the runes inscribed on a sealed letter inside  +2  roll (20)  and instantly recognizes it as an old ranger cipher once used by both kingdoms during better days.  Blackwulf reads it and calls for Xavos!?  ..”Xavos is still at Tor Varden, Chief “  mutters Skuti.. “ Scribes never around when you need one right?” Blackwulf fumbles for some paper and a charcoal stick from the messengers satchel and starts to write :Blackwulf’s Report:  Met maximum resistance at the Covent Gathouse. Ogres, Undead. We were lucky. The Knight Calistra fights like shes possessed by St Emilia herself. When Sigurd and I found ourselves locked in combat with the brutes, she entered the fray and slew them with a single stroke, not once, but twice. Evil magic is at work here, bound by magic chains, the flayed dead come back to life. Lorenthia was here as well

Rangers of Shadow Deep, Mission: Burning Light. Scenario A: The Gatehouse

A week ago, one of your fellow rangers stumbled into camp, escorting a Lorenthian survivor she had rescued from a pack of Orcs in the Shadow Deep. During their debriefing, they mentioned seeing the ruins of the Convent of St. Emilia, once a great house of healing in Lorenthia. It is said that the nuns never turned away anyone that came to them in sickness, and that they were aided in their mission through the possession of a powerful magic artefact, the Decanter of St. Emilia, also known as the Decanter of Burning Light. Water poured from this silver decanter onto a wound would wash it free of any infection, poison, or other corruption. The ranger didn’t approach the convent but, from what she could tell, the place appeared abandoned. The walls were cracked, and several of the towers had collapsed. Soon afterwards, you were summoned by your captains. They explained the situation and tasked you to venture into the Shadow Deep, make your way to the ruins, and, if possible, find the Decanter of St. Emilia

Rangers of Shadow Deep- Prepping Burning Light.

Burning Light is the first campaign supplement for Rangers of Shadow Deep, its included as an appendix to the core rules after the initial 8 introductory scenarios.  In the coming months I’ll be playing the whole thing as solo campaign continuing the adventures of the Ranger Blackwulf and his men.  Its an 9 Scenario Campaign so including this preparative post this should be a 10 post series.  None of the Scenarios are particularly long , each scenario deals with a specific area  which needs to explored and cleared on a 9 turn clock. so each game should make a single post, should  things get long winded I might move into a second post but I am going to try to keep each to one.The Rangers of Alladore are sent to explore the ruins of an old convent deep within the darkness of the shadow deep to recover a powerful artifact. The adversary list is pretty massive- 71 miniatures beside your Ranger Crew as potential foes and even a few potential allies. I already have about 2/3 of the l
