Game 6: Kolgrima vs. Grand Exemplar Kreoss part deux

Final round of the Champions event, and I drew Steven Mitchell playing (le sigh) Grand Exemplar Kreoss. In the pic above you can see me keeping my one unit of Fire Eaters just out of gun range of the Shrine of the Lawgiver. The left flank Fire Eaters are quite happy to play with the Fire Clouds.Again, I'm able to position Kolgrima aggressively, Hunter's Mark, and feat. This time around I avoid triggering Vengeance as much as possible. However, I still leave Rok kind of out there to be auto meleed to death by weaponmasters. He doesn't manage it this turn, but he does later on.Rok eats a shrine onlyThe best part about feating here is that Kolgrima removes pathfinder from the Judicator. The Judicator! Who's standing behind a wall! Can't shoot, can't charge! Can contest the zone and really I can't do much about that.Rok survives on dice, and we spend some time trying to clear a path to Kreoss. The path doesn't clear, so the Champions only get to do their part with the clearing rather than with the killing. Kolgrima

Game 5: Kolgrima Stonetruth vs. Grand Exemplar Kreoss

Round 2 of the Champions Steamroller I played Austin Thimesch on the Mirage map. I brought Kolgrima up against Kreoss2. He chose to go first and I chose to give him the side of the table with rubble on it.Our armies line up like so, and he looks at me and he looks at the 10" distance between the Bears and Judicator and Visgoth Rhoven. And he asks me straight out, "What are you doing here?""Asking to get shot I guess."So the Judicator aims and the choir sings Song of Battle because he forgets what his main gameplan against Kolgrima was. Sing Warding. Because Hunter's Mark. The Judicator does an impressive job opening a line of fire through and into the Bears and into Skaldi beyond. However, the Judicator is exposed. The Krielstone moves up and uses Wild Winds, Kolgrima casts Primal on Rok and advances 6" to the side and casts Hunter's Mark. She even feats just to give her some space, but of course it doesn't stop the Cinerators. Everything else maneuvers to clear a path for Rok.Rok charges for free with 6 Pow 20

Game 4: Kolgrima Stonetruth vs. Kommandant Sorscha Kratikoff

Round 1 of a local Champions event, I played Mateo who decided to field Kommandant Sorscha Kratikoff in Armored Corps. I dilligently played Kolgrima in Storm of the North.Assassination wasn't an option for me, not with Sorscha's armor, the ability to repair, and my inability to cast cold spells at her, so I decided to play for scenario and hope not to clock myself. With a cloud of fire on the table, I decided to split up my Fire Eaters, not because I thought they would handle the ARM 23 or whatever Shocktroopers, but because they'd be maybe enough to get in the way and would need Fire to be relatively threatening and durable.Sorscha's Warjacks are misdeployed and too far away to get Stoke the Flames. This makes them slower and unable to counter charge. Shock Troopers with Iron Flesh Advance up the table...in Shield Wall! What nonsense is this! (answer: Typical standard ARM 23 or whatever it is nonsense).Sorscha feats to cover her side of the table with clouds.Edrea gets PAthfinder so she move up and remove any

Game 3: Grim Angus vs. Lylyth Herald of Everblight

Francesc came by to try out some Champions, and his test list was an assassination list with Lylyth1 with the Children of the Dragon (a bunch of character warbeasts with ranged attacks to multiply the effort of her feat Field of Slaughter) and I tried out Grim Angus (since I already locked in Storm of the North with Kolgrima).I don't really give much thought to my deployment, but quickly realize that I'm in a bind. I'm a bit too comfortable with the Madrak1 loadout with Band of Heroes. I'm playing Grim Angus and can't move my dudes through my other dudes. It's a travesty and I waste a lot of time unpacking.Lylyth doesn't waste time. She goes to maximum range to target the Champions with a Witch Mark. Drops Parasite. Her army on feat kill as many of the bonded fighters as possible. A few Fennblades die.Zuriel on the other side of the church sees an opening and charges and kills a Fennblade. A shepherd has to run way out to support Zuriel, but there's no extra damage to be found and the Bomber is either too far

Trollbloods Active Duty Roster for Season 9 Champions

The Champions Format limits your warlock pool to a section of your faction, and on top of that, each list you choose to play must be both a different warlock and a different theme force. When you hear people say "Champions format" or "Active Duty Roster" they're talking about the same thing, a format that limits your army building forces. The current troll roster isRagnor Skysplitter (every army that has a battlebox gets access to that warlock or warcaster)Grim AngusKolgrima StonetruthGrissel Marshal of the KrielsBorka Vengeace of the RhimeshawsThe two theme forces areBand of HeroesStorm of the NorthMy conundrum is that I just need to get efficient with my main Kolgrima list in less than a month, and she's already taking up the Storm of the North slot. (fun fact: Storm of the North may be our best theme, and if you're planning on starting with Trollbloods it might just be the way to go), which isn't ideal in this formation.Probably our best Band of Heroes Warlocks are going to be guys like Madrak (any flavor)
