Bayne paint in progressBayne rear paint in progressPoor lighting when I took these but hopefully you get the idea of where i'm going.
The Emissary (warband leader) Last hero on 2 feet for the warband, the Emissary herself, this conversion uses the same parts as the other two figures based on the Tree revenants, just more branches used on her head basically. However where the other two had stock legs, this one had both legs cut off and then re-assembled onto the Blood bowl elf pelvis.
PteleaMore conversions for my new warband, another based on Tree revenent &blood bowl wood elf and the other a pretty common conversion (I've seen at least 2 others) based on the Dark elf sorcerer & Sylvaneth Branchwych.Balanos
This is Bayne, the first of the new warband I have been working on for around a month I think. He's made from;Sylvaneth Tree Revenent (legs, both arms)Blood bowl wood elf team (torso, mask)Sisters of the thorn hairOne weapon is from the old Dwarf warriors (going to have spikes added from Flagellant kit), the other is from the old Bretonnian Men at Arms. Then then is a some pro-create / miliput, plastic putty and Martian ironearth paint used for filling and texture.
Discordian here, with some new in-progress additions to my weird Mandrake themed army. You can see what has already been done HERE.New Urien Rakarth:Below are what I originally made for my Coven HQs, a generic Haemonculus and my Urien Rakarth with the Flag.Converted from Sylvaneth Tree RevenantsI was happy with them for the most part, but as time went by I wished had given both flags to make them both stand out better. So when the new Sylvaneth character box set came out, I knew it was time for a upgrade. My new Urien, complete with BEESS!!Simply enough project, and as soon as I get tree lady all painted up I'll swap her in as my new Urien.Super-Mandrake KheradruakhMy second project is something a little more absurd. And it started with this. For awhile I wanted to make a large show piece for my army, and I didn't want it to be a large tree. I wanted to focus more on the Mandrake side of things, and recently I had a cool idea when I saw that kit. There was a small part in Gathering Storm where the Mandrake
My mother-in-law, Rosemary, died suddenly a week and a half ago due to complications with the surgery she decided in the end to have. Either way, she was faced with a terrible choice; a slow deterioration which could rob her of a meaningful life, or a risky operation which offered her a chance of total recovery or catastrophic failure. After a week in which her symptoms only got worse, she opted to take the surgery with the proviso that if anything went wrong, she would be allowed to die without intervention. The surgeries themselves went without a hitch; it was just her body's reaction to them that was the risk factor, and unfortunately the worst happened. She died after a very rapid deterioration in her condition a week and a half ago. We said goodbye to her yesterday in a moving ceremony where my stepfather-in-law read out not only his own eulogy, but a letter Rosemary had written to her grandchildren. Each of the four grandkids was presented with a little enamel box and instructed to fill it with thi
We were talking about Circle Warlock names, when it came up how cool it would be to have a Princess Mononoke Kaya. A little google later and it brings me this.Apparently AduroT has already done this with Kaya the Moonhunter. However, the model I want to see with this more would be this one:Mostly because I don't already have a Kaya3 painted up. I'll have to check around to see who would do this for me.(I'm just kidding, Aaron. You know it's all going to be you, boo.)
Darrell Galbraith Jr. posted the above conversion of the Harbinger of Menoth, and I think it hits all the right notes to make the model immediately indistinguishable with zero confusion. He even added a blindfold! The base looks like it's from scibor miniatures. Lost ruins or something, Lord of the Rings inspired.
In the Trollbloods Facebook Group, Johnny Fagerberg asked about Fell Caller conversions. And we determined that to be such a thing any model would need two weapons (possibly swords) and some kind of smoke stack/incense burner or whatever it is the original Fell Caller model carries. The option he discussed using was to take the Fennblade UA and give him a second weapon and an backpack torch. Seemed it would be solid enough. Only questionable thing would be the obvious 2" melee weapon substituting in for the 1" melee weapon. The community came out to share their ideas. I'm going to have have steal some of them.Mark Mallard shared his conversion based off Gerlak Slaughterborne. The weapons appear to be the Runeshaper hammers, but it's not obvious as to whether they are the plastic or metal ones. Finally it carries a Fell Caller smokestacks and (I think) the Champion Hero's head in place of Gerlak's. Ethan Windschitl based his model off the Trollkin Sorcerer, making his Fell Caller truly one of the
Hello.Recently I went to NOVA 2018. And I used it as motivation to complete an army I've been working on for quite some time. This Army. This whole army started because I liked Mandrakes. So everything is themed around that, so stayed with spooky things.AOS Tree Revenants as Wracks & HaemonculusArchonAs a add-on I wanted to use some Silent Shroud Harlequins, because you know scary stuff.Had a few Razorwings laying around Sticks out for now, but I plan to replace it with the next High Elf Skycutter I seeOne of the last things I worked on was finishing my Skyweavers, but not the 6 actual ones I already had partially painted. These GuysThe very last thing I worked on was a small Eldar detachment for much larger NOVA events.Deer-LocksWraith-seer was a old Project, but I gave him some blue to help him fit inI'm not sure where I'll go from here with this army. It filled out pretty nicely, and I've done pretty good of exhausting GWs mandrake-like and bird selection. But maybe one day GW will revisit
Things have been a bit slow around these parts over recent months, especially last year as, I simply didn't have the time to update my blog regularly. I thought it was about time that I posted what I'm currently working on and to get this yea...
Overall things have been quiet in regards to me posting regularly on the blog but it doesn't mean that my hobby time has been quiet, in fact it's the complete opposite as there is a long list of things to do. These were done a little while ago and...
Finished my hell hammers for man o war yesterday, when I originally picked up the models on eBay they where missing their guns, so it was an easy conversion using some Empire bits. Plus I don't think you need the original metal models as you can easily...
It's been a bit quiet over recent months on the blog so this is what I'm currently working on, and considering you can take them in groups of 5 it's now definitely an incentive for me to get them up and running.Apologies for the bad pictures, as the li...
