Post Adepticon Breakdown Finale: 40k Team Tournament

Coming back to you with more Adepticon Coverage, this time the 40k Team Tourna, ment. As always this is overall a great event. You meet some awesome teams, and if you do it a few times, you start to meet the same teams ever (two of the 5 teams we played against this year were teams we had faced at a previous Adepticon). Now with our last minute change to EVERYTHING for the 40k team tournament, and one of our players as a result essentially being a 40k novice, we had a challenge ahead of us at the outset. However in the end we came in 47th out of 127 teams and had our best performance yet (overall and battlepoints). Placing above 63% of the competition IMO is excellent for bringing Blood Angels, Dark Angels and Grey Knights. Here are our lists. Some other impressive rankings for us:We were tied with 5 teams for 10th in appearance (which is nice since most of the models we had were just from our collection). Overall score considered, we would have been 18th in appearance. We got 8 Line breakers, in a tie for 3rd for

Post Adepticon Breakdown Part Three: Astartes on Ice 40k Team Tournament Board

Coming back to you with more Adepticon Coverage, this time our last minute board and theme. The forthcoming podcast will talk more about it, but in short we had another large amazing theme planned for this Adepticon. Unfortunately one of our team mates had to bow out this year for a family emergency. In solidarity with him, we decided to put that on the back burner and in two weeks time pulled off this board and theme. It basically came about because Chris joked my Redemptor looks like he is Ice Skating. And since all good boards start with a joke, we went from there. So here is the finished productHow did we get to that? Well a whole ton of last minute work.I personally built 3 bikes, painted 6 bikes, an attack bike, and 11 intercessors, and painted the Realm of Battle Boards. Chris did TONS of construction on the boards, integrating all our motors, put together our draft pamphlet, and helped with bases, while Jason helped finish off bases and added all the snow once we were in the hotel. The whole thing was f

Hobby Progress: Prophets of Bark and the Spooky Bunch, Part 3

Hello.Recently I went to NOVA 2018. And I used it as motivation to complete an army I've been working on for quite some time. This Army. This whole army started because I liked Mandrakes. So everything is themed around that, so stayed with spooky things.AOS Tree Revenants as Wracks & HaemonculusArchonAs a add-on I wanted to use some Silent Shroud Harlequins, because you know scary stuff.Had a few Razorwings laying around Sticks out for now, but I plan to replace it with the next High Elf Skycutter I seeOne of the last things I worked on was finishing my Skyweavers, but not the 6 actual ones I already had partially painted. These GuysThe very last thing I worked on was a small Eldar detachment for much larger NOVA events.Deer-LocksWraith-seer was a old Project, but I gave him some blue to help him fit inI'm not sure where I'll go from here with this army. It filled out pretty nicely, and I've done pretty good of exhausting GWs mandrake-like and bird selection. But maybe one day GW will revisit

NOVA 2018 Narrative Recap - Prophets of Bark and the Spooky Bunch

Discordian Here. This year I decided to go with the narrative event at NOVA. Last couple of years I'd done the GT, and I wanted to do something different. I brought my Prophets of Bark and the Spooky Bunch, Dark Eldar Coven with Mandrakes and some Harlequins (I'm going to make a follow-up post just about that, but you can go HERE and HERE to see some of it now). The Forces of Virtue (My team) vs the Forces of Humanity. The whole event was divided into a bunch of varied point level games that you could choose to participate in, which all had a bunch of unique non-standard missions. The smaller games were played on 4x4s, some games were doubles, and everything ended with a big Apoc game. There was also a kill team element, but they ended up going with the newer GW kill team rules and literally everything I was planning/painting was made illegal by that. So I ended up dropping that part. There was this whole warlord mechanic involved, were a few team leaders got to pick were and what you played against. It add
