Monsterpocalypse Preview: General hondo

Apparently General Hondo is supposed to be a ranged monster, and when he gets down to his hyper form he...shoots more? I'm hoping the army interacts well enough that that works. Getting taken down to hyper form often involves getting beat down, and maybe extra ranged attacks will help tip the scales, but I'm thinking it will only work when monsters are low on health. July SolicitationGeneral Hondo – Empire of the Apes Monster (resin)PIP 51060 MSRP: $28.99*Though he is not their king, General Hondo is the Empire of the Apes’ greatest military leader. Hondo is responsible for the widespread seizure and deployment of human military hardware by ape troops fighting Earth’s potential destroyers. He is also fond of military uniforms and medals. Empire! Of! The! Apes!

We now have a date for the Empire of the Apes release: June.So we all know what I'll be doing in June. That's right. Going ape...stuff. Paintin apes and takin names.I have no clue if it will be effective, but I'll be playing Apes and Dinos and Robots and Ninjas and and......this game is ridiculous. I'm so glad Monsterpocalypse went the way of being a hobby game.I mean, those unit apes are using field artillery as rifles! How sweet is that! My Trollbloods should ever be so quirkyConsider me distracted in part by this upcoming release and still I don't know what to prep or bring to Adepticon. .

Previews: A Mad Gorman, a Trio of Monsters

Some recent previews have been nice coming out of Privateer Press. The biggest buzz is probably for Gorman the Mad, a hero for Riot Quest, the skirmish game hex board game they're releasing later this year. Nova is the third G.U.A.R.D. monster being released. I think the magic number is there will be three of them because any spoilers after the first three have been of different factions.I am torn between being most excited for the third Terrasaur, Armodax, or the first Empire of the Apes monster, King Kondo. When they first released the Empire of the Apes in Monsterpocalypse 1.0 it made me oddly happy. I have no idea why.But Armodax is some kind of turtle/anklysaurus, and that makes him kind of awesome. Honestly if Armodax were more turtle like, he'd have won this release by a country mile.So it will have to be King Kondo as winner of this  set of previews.
