Warlords of Erehwon Army List - Forces of Darkness.

After last weeks horror outing I thought it would be useful to post up the Army of Darkness, which I have priced up using Rick Priestley's latest fantasy rule offering. Warlords of Erehwon.Given the demise of Yahoo Groups in the week ahead at least publishing the list on the blog will give people an outlet to share ideas especially if your not a fan of Facebook. I will look to post up the English and Spanish listings in the weeks ahead, but would welcome any feedback or suggested amendments or additions for the Witches and their undead hordes.Army of DARKNESSThe RisenWarrior UnitPoints Value: 50Unit: Zombies Ag Acc Str Res Init Co Special 10 x Zombies 2 2 3 3 2 5 Zombie, 1 x HtH SV0, Undead BEGUILED PeasantsWarrior UnitPoints Value: 32 Unit: Peasants Ag Acc Str Res Init Co Special 1 x Yeoman with cudgel 5 5 5 5 6 7 Tough, Surly 4 x Peasants with cudgels 5 5 5 5 6 6 Surly The ReTURNEDWarrior UnitPoints Value: 30 Unit: The Returned Ag Acc Str Res Init

Ghost Archipelago - #7 The Gateway.

According to locals the Chappata live in a mountain city high where the only why in is through a large gate in the bottom of the mountain, all the parties have to do is push open the gate and enter the city, where a bounty of treasure awaits. The Chappata are peaceful people and not known for their warrior skills so they should be easy to push aside. The winner in today's outing is the first player to push open the gate. The Gateway is defended by three warriors of the Chappata people, however a further warrior will join the defenders for every 18 rolled on the initiative table. They won't engage the parties until anyone gets within 10" of the gate or they are fired upon.Littered along the road to the temple is various piles of treasure, the players will gain rewards for collecting them, but this is a race to the gate..... Remember guys a race.....Turn one and it would appear blood feuds run deep, as the freebooters open fire on the Atlantians who are sandwiched on the main highway between to the two opposing fo

Dragon Rampant Vs Warlords of Erehwon

Two weeks, two games both set in Ancient China. The first outing an Dragon Rampant game with a scenario lifted from Grant & Asquith's Scenarios For All Ages  The long term plan is to play them all but at the current rate this could take over a decade...The scenario saw a column of troops stumbling into an Imperial camp and looking to break through into the cover of the woodland. The Imperial forces were unprepared and would have to be roused from their tents to block the path of the enemy forces. 24 points a side. The War Wagon was used to good effect blocking the path of the advancing column, the Crossbow men looking to blunt the Palace Guard who were leading the attack. The Guard stumbled, halted and finally routed. A poor morale roll saw them get below zero and leave the table. We manged to get two games in an evening. Swapping sides the Imperial Army once again stood firm against the lost column. The light cavalry charged and were repulsed there was to be no way through.Dragon Rampant gives a good quic

Ghost Archipelago - #6 All creatures great and small.

Yet another outing in the Ghost Archipelago. It was an opportunity to give the new swamp mat from Deep Cut Studio a try. It looks pretty good to give that murky swampy feel, although I still have reservations when it comes to representing hills etc.The objective was a simple one, race to the tower, avoid the dinosaurs, run up the stairs, kill king kong and escape the table. The Pirates had clearly not forgotten the accidental shooting in the previous game and came rushing for my Atlantians. OK I may have accidently shot one of them again but I did not expect them to all coming charging after me.They were seriously cross with my peace loving Atlantians, throwing grenades and bad language at me for the whole game.Meanwhile the Marines unhindered by the blood feud defeated the local wild life and marched off with the treasure. Even sending their trusty warhound to run off with a bone (attached to a zombie.)Everytime that flaming monkey beat his chest another member of the local wildlife appeared to nibble at the

Ghost Archipelago - Atlantian Heritor

Having won my ill gotten gains in the last game, it gave me an excuse to paint up this recent purchase from Antimatter Games and their ShadowSea offering, I have been on the look out for a while for a Heritor type to bolster the Atlantian Faction and he seemed to fit the bill. The Antediluvian Miniatures are wonderful sculpts but they could do with one or to additional mini's to bolster the range.... (Guy's if you are reading this :-)...He comes with a hooded cape but a little work with the craft knife and you have yourself another bullet head to add to the mix. Armed with a large sword and hand held crossbow he should fit right in. He comes with separate arms so you can position them to your own liking and they fitted together very cleanly. He is a reasonable fit when compared to the Antediluvian Miniatures - Guardian range his limbs and features are slightly thinner but based up looks a good match. He should help protect me from the avenging pirates after last weeks slight accident with a firing line of musket

Ghost Archipelago - #5 The Rescue.

The first game of the new year and another outing in the Ghost Archipelago. This is rapidly becoming one of the go to games during mid-week, slowly our little mini-heroes are growing a character of there own and you do feel a little bit worried about putting some of the more experienced characters in the line of fire, for fear of being sent back to the start if they get killed. This game was a little different I wanted to grow the forces slowly so why not offer a Warden or Heritor up for grabs if you could rescue your man.Our three hostages are shackled in the centre of the temple guarded by those nasty turtle fellas who are surprisingly hard to dispatch. Guarded on all corners the poor man's ninja turtles won't move until anyone comes within 10"s of them. So my plan was simple sit back and wait for the others to thin the herd and perhaps killed each other in the process. The Marines did their usual thing and rushed towards danger drawing a number of the guards away.Whilst lead proved to be rather ineffective, s

Welcome to 2019...

A little later than planned - Happy New Year!Last year was pretty slow on the painting and gaming front, a good summer and a DIY filled winter broke the habit and with a new job which seemed to eat into the spare time my paint total was just under 100 figures almost half what I completed in 2017. So this year a concious effort to get more hobby time in.I have given myself a challenge to make 30 mins every game hobby time, be it reading, painting or updating the blog. A wargamers fitbit :-)5 Days in and it's going to plan with some prep done for the latest batch of recruits for the Haiti campaign and this petrol station completed from Gale Force Nine for Team Yankee.OK it was ready painted but I picked it up cheap because the roof was broken, it definately looks better on a base and with the pumps given a corporate make over.It will be a good fit for the Modern Russian scenario's or 15mm sci-fi games. So having had a chance to think about the year ahead what do I see on the wargaming road map.The on going camp

Ghost Archipelago - #4 Swampland

Blimey has it really been over 6 months since the last outing of Ghost Archipelago? No wonder it took longer than usual to get to grips with the rules, good news by the end of turn 2 we were well under way.A couple of quick texts around the group and we were able to amass enough boats and bridges for the Swampland Scenario, three islands with treasure aplenty, but don't roll low on your initiative as this will cause a swamp zombie to appear. Unsurprisingly it was a night of low rolls :-(The adventures had been busy over the past 6 months and everyone had a couple of sail boats to bring to the party, Marines, Privateers and Atlantians all prepared their landing parties. The Crew of the Sun Chaser got off to their usual start, set upon by Zombies. OK we the other players kept placing our undead foe in their path. The Marines marched about confidently shooting anything that moved and the bullet heads hung about doing very little.Bonus points could be gained by stepping on each island, but being a sporting bunch we

The dead are rising - Elizabethan Zombie Wars.

All Hallows Eve is nearly upon us, so time to raise the dead and dust off the Elizabethan forces for a club zombie outing. Three groups of the living, The English looking to rescue their comrades from the clutches of the evil Spanish, The Spaniards have landed in England looking to cleanse the land they have heard rumours of witches holding the locals in their evil grasp and finally the locals seeking to secure their food stocks before the opposing armies loot them....The only problem all objectives are in the barn unknown to each player.....Each player selects a table edge to approach the village, no cadavers are in sight, but each player is aware that the village is surrounded by six burial pits and any noise will awaken the dead. The Spanish head down the road on mass believing in safety in numbers. However this only serves to awaken the plague victims as the ground gives up the recently passed. The English fair little better as the burial mound spits out its content driving them towards the village. The Engl

Uncharted Seas - Shroud Mages Ripper Class Submarine

A rather short post this weekend.A good friend of mine gave me the heads up of some Shroud Mages Submarines going cheap on the wargamers friend ebay a few weeks ago, they took a while to arrive and where badly in need of a new paint job, but the good news is they don't take long and if they sink in combat I will simply claim that was the plan.  What a difference a re-paint makes. With a few more human ships to tidy up. I am looking forward to getting these on the table. The blub claims the following. This large submarine was designed by the Shroud Mage Artisans with one purpose: intimidation! Its massive cutting blades are designed to rip the bottoms out of enemy ships, sinking them in the blink of an eye. And if that’s not enough, short range clockwork torpedoes have been added to this model to cause even more damage.
