Gangs of Rome

I’ve ordered at Warb … Dark Peak … forget it, I bought Footsore Miniatures

After a name and brand bickering, that I first thought was an April fools joke, Footsore Miniatures - who took over Musketeer Miniatures back in the day, came back to their name. With Gangs of Rome, they went with the name of Warbanner and recently Games Workshop got in touch with them, as Warbanner would […]

Didn't we have a lovely time..

The day we went to Fiasco.I haven't posted for a while now, been busy with the day job so painting moves down the list of priorities.  Anyway, a couple of weeks ago it was my eldest daughters birthdays, who happens to live in Leeds and a couple of days later it was my birthday so despite the fact I've been try to forget my birthday for longer than I can remember we arranged to visit Leeds the following weekend for a small celebration, which as it happened coincided with Fiasco.  While my wife and two daughters hit the shops, I spent a couple of hours at Fiasco. Now I didn't plan to buy anything particularly, as unusually for a wargamer/painter/modeler I don't like piles of unpainted stuff lying around, and I've got quite enough to be getting on with thank you very much.  I did though want a look at the Gangs of Rome figures, not necessarily buy any, just a look, especially the Flavia Graecina figure  as decent historical female figures are pretty hard to come by in any genre and I

Gangs of Rome Civilian Mobs Secundus and Tertius

With the Blood on the Aventine starter just introduced on here, and my ancient SAGA with roman participants, I laid my eyes upon the extended range of Gangs of Rome. These cover beside the fighters several sets of civilians. I wanted to buy all three of the Mobs, unfortunately the mob primus wasn't in stock […]

Painting Tally: September 2018

My plan for September was for it to be a big follow up to my minor victory of actually getting some figures painted in August. As it turned out, it wasn’t quite as big as I had hoped… Painted: 14 I painted some more Gangs of Rome miniatures – not as many as I had hoped, but I have been slightly distracted by return of the podcast, so some of my hobby time has been spent recording and editing, rather than applying paint. The first half of October has to be busy, as I need to get some mobs painted in time for an event at the end of the month. Purchased: 69 Most of these purchases were planned way in advance, as I have been anticipating my visit to ChillCon Derby for a several weeks. 10 new miniatures for Burrow & Badgers from Oathsworn Miniatures 20 miniatures for Gangs of Rome – 5 Inocula and 3 mobs 22 models for Star Saga – the Nameless Expansion, which gives forces for two games in one, as the same models can be used in Deadzone. 16 Star Wars Legion models – got these
