Hello everyone! The first historical entry on DwarfCrypt in the new year today. I return to one of my favorite topics- Landsknechts.I will take a closer look at the Black Company by Florian Geyer and show three new soldiers painted for the occasion. Other entries related to this multicolored formation can be found below:I. Sacco di Roma / The Sack of Rome / Złupienie Rzymu (1527)II. Landsknechts II: Dopplesoldiers / Landsknechci - Podwójnożołdacy (Artizan Designs)III. Landsknechts III: Regiment (Warlord Games)IV. Landsknechts IV: Recruitment / Rekrutacja (Warlord Games)The original German name of the Black Company was Schwarzer Haufen. The term Schwarz (black) pointed out the ideological distance of the company from the large peasant army at that time, which called itself the Heller Haufen (Hell meaning "light-colored"). Black Lancknechts probably also distinguished black elements of uniforms. The German word Haufen was the name the peasants gave to their armed companies.
"Non nobis Domine, non nobis, sed nomini Tuo da gloriam!" (Ps. 115,1 )Hello everyone. Today at the DwarfCrypt, post dedicated to the Templars. It is probably one of the most recognizable knight order of the day crusade and not only (well, i Poland more popular only the Teutonic Knights, because a years of bloody wars with them).Courtesy of Stronghold-Terrain for today's entry I used a limited metal crusader model (Raimund of Toulouse), which the manufacturer joins the order with the manual for the SAGA: Age of Crusades (German edition). From the source I know that the mini will be available in normal sales from next week.I think that I fit in perfectly with the army of the Crusaders, Brothers in Arms, as a priest and commander.I recommend!https://stronghold-terrain.de/en/https://www.facebook.com/Stronghold.de/And now...The Templar knights, the Order of the Poor Knights of Christ and the Temple of Solomon (Fratres Militiae Templi, Pauperes Commilitones Christi Templique Salomonis) were a medieval knight's
Hello everyone!I return today to the colorful history of early Medieval Ireland and give another story about the retreat, bravery and deeds that are permanently inscribed in the pages of the history of the Green Island. The models painted today, the army standard bearer and Brian Boru come from one of my favorite producers of metal historical minis - Footsore Miniatures. The banner is the work of Little Big Men Studios.BRIAN BORU - THE LAST GREAT HIGH KING OF IRELAND: The line between Irish Legend and Irish Myth has often been blurred, especially as the retelling of heroic deeds has been passed on through generations. Brian Boru was no legend although his life deeds were legendary. He was very much a real man and was in fact the last great High King of Ireland and perhaps the greatest military leader the country has ever known. Brian Boru was born Brian Mac Cennétig. He mother was sister to the mother of Conor, the King of Connaught. His
Welcome!Today I come back to the theme of the Vikings, breaking the next figure. Some time ago I presented you the true story of Halfdan the Black, and today I invite you to the saga about Björn Ragnarsson.Although I like the character of the viking created by the actor Alexander Ludwig in the Vikings series, I have to say with a heartache that about 90% of it is a figment of writers. The fate of the real Björn (if we can believe sagas and stories) looked completely different...Today's sponsorship is Stronghold-Terrain, which has many excellent original figures, including Björn Ragnarsson, described today. The model is made of white metal and is modeled on the 4-5 season from the Vikings series. The miniature consists of three parts: bodies, hands with ax and shield. And I think it's sweeping!Visit Stronghold-Terrain and FB And now...Björn Ironside was a legendary king of Sweden who lived sometime in the 9th century. Viking is said to have been the first ruler of the Munsö dynasty.A powe
Hello everyone! It was long time since entry about Vikings, which is why I invite you to a story about one Jomsviking. A man who was evil and two-faced, with a wicked character. Welcome to the story of Jarl Sigvaldi. To today's entry I prepared a special miniature received from Footsore Miniatures specializing, among others, in figurines from "dark ages" but not only. If you do not know it yet, check them out! Jarl Sigvaldi was the semi-legendary chieftain of the fabled Jomsvikings and commander of their stronghold - Jomsborg. He succeeded Palnatoke as the leaders of the Jomsvikings in the late 10th century. The character of Sigvaldi remains largely enigmatic. As a leader, he was said to be more wily than brave despite leading such a powerful force, Sigvaldi Strut-Haraldsson was the son of Jarl Strut-Harald, who ruled over the Danish territory of Scania and the brother of Thorkell the Tall, And cousin to Swedish Jarl Wiffen. In order to win Astrid, th
