Miniatures: Guild Ball
Finally the last model for the Cook's Minor Guild is completed (well sort of, I still have the Limited Edition 'Shank' and 'Tenderiser' that I will eventually get to). It really feels good to get another Guild completed start to finish. The last model to be completed is the Captain himself, 'Wellington'. Today I am wrapping up the final 2 models for my Cook's Minor Guild and up first is 'Sugar', a Striker for the Guild that has an incredible Snap Shot! SugarSugarPainting Points: 1
Now that I am excited that my second wave Captains arrived, it is time to finish up the rest of my Cook's Minor Guild.'Spice' is up next, a Winger for the Guild. SpiceSpicePainting Points: 1
Officially the new second wave Captains come out today, but on Wednesday May 1st I received and email that my order had shipped with my new Captains. I thought there actually may be a chance I will receive them by today, sure enough yesterday afternoon my package arrived in the mail. The second wave of Captains consist of 'Corbelli' for the Mason's, 'Rivet' for the Engineer's, 'Culverin'/'Cutlass' for the Blacksmith's and 'Corker' for the Brewer's Guild (who I am most excited for to paint and play).More than likely the first model I'll tackle (pun intended) on the painting table will be 'Corker' (as I said most excited for), then followed by 'Culverin'/'Cutlass' since that is the Guild my son plays the most after his Hunter's.Not sure where these models fill in with my painting queue at the moment, I am wrapping up my Cook's Guild and then may move onto some more BMG, but we'll see.
For some reason I enjoy painting Mascots, probably since they are usually animals and it gives it a nice change of pace from painting people all the time.Once 'Cinnamon' and 'Roast' was completed, I knew it was time for the Cook's Guild Mascot 'Pepper' to be next. PepperPepperPainting Points: 1
My two Minor Guild models that can work for my Butcher's Guild are now completed (I am happy), now I can slowly get to finish the remaining 4 models from the Cook's Minor Guild. The second model that needed to be completed is 'Roast' a Defensive Midfielder with a Big Belly. My Cook's Minor Guild arrived very late towards the end of April, and finally yesterday I was able to get one of them on the painting table and completed for this weekend's tournament.I really want to use 'Cinnamon' this weekend so my Butcher's guild can benefit from the extra +2"/+2" MOV from Get Set BAKE! Well finally while I was out of town this past weekend for "Spring Fling", my Cook's Guild arrived. I really could have used 'Cinnamon' this past weekend when playing Captain 'Veteran Boar'.I have another tournament this upcoming Sunday, I may just have to play her unpainted and then hopefully get her completed in time for the following weekend in Chicago or the end of the month for "MuseOn Con".Along with the box set "Hell's Kitchen", it also included the Limited Edition 'Wellington', and then I also had to purchase the Cook' Guild dice.
Well I was able to get another model completed just in time for AdeptiCon 2019 (just in case my son will be adding this model to his roster). 'Steeljaw' the new Captain for the Hunter's Guild is now completed. 'Steeljaw' is one of the four new Captains released on March 1st and my third one completed. It may be awhile before I get to the fourth ('Yukai') since I gave my model to my friend while he waits for his purchase to arrive. SteeljawSteeljawPainting Points: 1
I had a busy last couple of days assembling models, first with 'Mataagi' and 'Mourn', then 'Steeljaw' and then I decided to work on assembling the new Miner's Minor Guild.Unlike the previous Minor Guilds; Ratcatcher's, Falconer's, Navigator's and upcoming Cook's which all come as PVC plastic material, the Miner's Minor Guild come as colored resin and need assembly. I also have the alternate sculpts for 'Salvo' and 'Colossus' so I assembled those at the same time.At least now they can hit the Pitch and we can see what they can do as a team.
With the recent release of three new Captains this past March 1st, my Mortician's were now incomplete and I had to get 'Mourn' completed. 'Veteran Boar' was the first of the new Captains completed since the Butcher's are my go to playing Guild, and yesterday I decided to just quickly paint up 'Mourn' for the Mortician's. My paint style for the Mortician's is quick and easy (table top quality) so I knew she would not take long to complete. With that, my Mortician's are back to being completed. Back when I purchased "The Falconer's Guild: Daughter of Falcons", I also received a Limited Edition alternate sculpt of 'Mataagi'. This worked out really nice because 'Mataagi' is also one of the Falconer's that can play for the Hunter's Guild. With the recent errata change to 'Chaska', my son has been trying out 'Mataagi' more and more and I thought now would be a perfect time to get him completed just in time for AdeptiCon. With the release of the four new Captains two weeks for Guild Ball, and one of them being a new Captain for my favorite Guild, the Butcher's Guild, it was only obvious that 'Veteran Boar' (also known as VCB) would be the first of the new Captains to hit my painting table. The new Captain models are being produced in the new colored resin that Steamforged Games has switched too, eliminating their metal productions, and I am not a fan of the resin. One of 'VCB's weapons easily snapped off his belt, and even back when I worked on 'Rookie Seenah', one of the collars had snapped on that model. Some companies produce very nice resin models that are more sturdy (Privateer Press), but the resin that SFG is using is too soft/brittle. I personally prefer their metals models first, followed by the PVC (plastic) models. My Miner's models also are colored resin, we shall how they look like when it comes time to assembling them.I really was in no rush to complete 'VCB', the only timeline I had was by
WOW! one week for me to receive a package from the UK, and it even had a tracking number that worked all the way till it was delivered.Last week my order for the new Miner's Minor Guild and my new Captains 'Yukai', 'Mourn' and 'Veteran Boar' ('Steeljaw' delayed) were shipped and my package just arrived this afternoon. It was now time for a quick unboxing.Looks like 'Veteran Boar' is going to have to be assembled and quickly painted for AdeptiCon.
It was very nice that the TO for Bourbon Trail Open IV provided the players with a little swag bag, and inside each bag were a pair of dice, a BTO IV button, and a custom painted 3D Goal. The Goals I usually use for my Guilds are made from acrylic and have the Guilds logo on them, but it was nice to actually have a 3D Goal, and one in the shape of a Bourbon barrel.Seeing how my son also received the same swag bag, I thought it would be nice to get both of these painted up and they can be used for future events. Dice and button from swag bag. Red for my Butcher's and Cook's, Green for my son's Hunter's and Alchemist's.Painting Points: 10
