Guild Ball: Unboxing 'The Navigator's Guild: Tales of the New World'

It has been just about two months since I placed my order for the 'The Navigator's Guild: Tales of the New World' back on November 22nd through a US website on the West Coast. and finally yesterday my package has arrived.  Originally it was suppose to land in the US early December and shipped out mid December (in time for Christmas).  Delays kept on pushing out the date, and being lost at Sea did not help either (it turns out the US actually ships products by boat in the US from Florida to California).  Florida is where the container originally arrived and then they had to make their way to some of the West Coast distributors (which went by boat), then when it arrived, they did not have the correct paperwork from Steamforged Games and had to wait for SFG to return to the office due to the Holidays.  So finally yesterday afternoon around 3:00 PM, the USPS delivered my package.Inspired by their captain's leadership, the men and women of the Navigator's Guild revel in unorthodox play, cr

Guild Ball: Hunter's Guild 'Rookie Seenah'

Well I did not get in a game on New Year's Day, but I did manage to spend the morning and get in some painting.  Late last week I received my second Black Friday order from Steamforged Games and part of that order was 'Rookie Seenah'.  I had two other models prepped for painting on my table, but on New Year's Eve I decided to get 'Rookie Seenah' ready also so I could come down in the morning and start painting.I knew this model would not take long to complete, so it was a good model to start 2019 off with. Rookie Seenah Rookie SeenahRookie SeenahPainting Points: 5

Guild Ball: The Union 'Faithful of Solthecius'

It has been pretty quiet around here this week with the Holiday's. not much modeling nor gaming (hoping to get in a game later today).  On Christmas Eve this past Monday, one half of my Steamforged Games Black Friday Sale package finally arrived.  My boxed set for The Union 'Faithful of Solthecius' finally came in.  This boxed set represents The Union models that separated and formed The Order Minor Guild.I actually have majority of the models that already belong to The Order, but I was missing the Mascot 'Pride', with Steamforged Gamed having issues with their website during the Black Friday Sale and the Limited Edition version of 'Pride' kept on saying "sold out", I just went ahead and ordered the full boxed set anyways.  The existing Union models that I already have, I can paint them a little differently, or may even sell some of them individually, we'll see what happens with them later (I am in no rush with them).Once I get these models assembled early next year, I may actually try a g

Guild Ball: The Fallen 'Zombie Thresher'

I know, technically I am a year late getting these models completed, but better late than never.  In October 2017, Steamforged Games released a special set called "The Dark Harvest" and that set came with a Grim Reaper, and five Harvest Markers for the Farmer's Guild, but the models may be alternately used as players in their respected Guilds, these players are 'Zombie Thresher', 'Greyscale's Grave', 'Ghast's Grave', Blackheart's Grave', 'Coin's Grave', and 'Snakeskin's Grave'.Seeing how I am only a few Painting Points from surpassing last year's mark, I thought working on these would be perfect to finally get them completed, and to beat last year's Points. Also you may have noticed in the title of this post, I used "The Fallen" instead of "The Dark Harvest", the reason for this is that SFG has released at least one more zombie model with 'Zombie Furnace' since "The Dark Harvest" was released, and I thought the category of "The Fallen" would fit better for when I collect any more of these models. While pai

Guild Ball: Mason's Guild 'Veteran Chisel'

It has been quite awhile since I last worked on a Mason's Guild model, but now the Guild is back to being fully completed.  'Veteran Chisel' comes from "The Faithful New Beginnings" box, which are players loyal to their teammates and Guild, respect and honour foremost in their minds as they begin the next chapter of their lives. Veteran ChiselVeteran ChiselPainting Points: 1

Guild Ball: Ratcatcher's Guild 'LE Cheese Ball'

This past weekend at the "Holiday Guild Ball" tournament in Grand Rapids, I failed to come home with the "Wooden Spoon" award, but I did manage to bring home a Limited Edition Ratcatcher's Cheese Ball.Come 2019 I will be concentrating on finishing up my remaining Guild Ball models, plus all the new models coming out next year and I have a pretty healthy backlog of the current Minor Guilds waiting to be painted.  More thank likely I will be starting on the Ratcatcher's Minor Guild come January so I thought what a better way to kick them off than painting their 'LE Cheese Ball'. LE Cheese BallLE Cheese BallPainting Points: 1

Guild Ball: Hunter's Guild 'Veteran Hearne'

The Hunter's Guild for Guild Ball I can finally say are completed (at least until they expand).  'Veteran Hearne' was the last of the models to be completed and I was able to start on him Monday night and finished him up last night.  With the Steamforged Black Friday Sale, I do have a 'Young Theron' and a 'Rookie Seenah' coming, but those are played as replacements to their original counterparts. Veteran HearneVeteran HearnePainting Points: 2

Guild Ball: Mortician's Guild 'Memory'

This is it for now, my Mortician's are now completed for Guild Ball.  The last model needed was 'Memory' which is a companion for 'Brainpan'.  'Memory' actually does not count as a player in your lineup, but instead is automatically included with 'Brainpan' and is an extra model on the Pitch.  'Memory' has no MOV stat and does not count for any VP if Taken Out.  'Memory' can only move by Character Plays and Character Traits from 'Brainpan' or his own Character Trait, Control Strings. MemoryMemoryPainting Points: 1

Guild Ball: Mortician's Guild 'Brainpan'

I am nearing the finish line for completing my Mortician's Guild.  Just the final 2 models of 'Brainpan & Memory' and today we have 'Brainpan'.  Currently in the rosters I am seeing for Season 4, 'Brainpan & Memory' are not being used much, I am not sure why, I think they could be a fun pair to play with it.  One day when time allows I may have to give them a try in a friendly game. BrainpanBrainpanPainting Points: 1

Guild Ball: Mortician's Guild 'Veteran Graves'

After finishing 'Veteran Hemlocke' last week, I was in the mood to continue working on my Mortician's Guild.  I have only played with the Mortician's one time so far, but after my tournament on December 8th I may give them some more time on the Pitch.I have only 3 more models left to complete out of the 14 and the entire Guild will be finished, so up next we have 'Veteran Graves', a Defensive Midfielder.  From the lists I have seen in the Facebook Groups, he seems to be played quite often.  Since he was not completed in time for my game with them, I may have to try him out next time. Veteran GravesVeteran GravesPainting Points: 1
