The weather was the exact opposite of last years event, this year at the Silverstone MotoGP we had an amazing hot and sunny day. The racing was red hot as well with Alex Rins and Marc Marquez within half a second for the whole race and ending on the line almost level, Rins taking the win by 0.013 seconds. On the first lap, Quartararo lost rear and then the front to crash out, taking Dovizioso with him. A real shame as both of these guys would have been in the fight at the front. That is pretty much the end of the Championship for the year, with Dovi out, Marquez has built up a massive lead and it is his already.
Who would have thought the Marquez would NOT win the American MotoGP. I guess you lot would not have thought it, as you come here for wargamers content and not my other passion. Anyway, I enjoyed it, it was a cracking race. After Marquez crashed out from the lead, Rossi and Rins battled for the lead with Rins winning through and taking his first MotoGP victory. This is going to be a classic MotoGP year.
Exciting stuff in Texas, Rossi qualifies in second behind the flying Marquez. Cal Crutchlow in third. Racing tomorrow. I’m in Lanzarotte this week so will be watching it in Spanish in a bar somewhere. It is a tough job but someone has to do it…
This year at the finish line and last year at the finish line. Does not get much closer than this. A gap of 0.024 seconds at 200+ mph. My blood pressure will suffer this year.
Best news of the year so far, MotoGP returns this weekend. I already know it is going to be an exciting year.
Yesterday was a wash out at Silverstone, all day in the rain, no racing due to the newly laid tarmac not letting the water drain away. After a couple of sighting laps, the riders decided it was too dangerous to race. Although disappointing, safety comes first.
Off on my holiday this week, heading to Austria and the Red Bull Ring MotoGP on Sunday, followed by some relaxing and drinking for a couple of weeks. Will not be much to see here until I am back from the Silverstone MotoGP and life returns to normal.
One of the best MotoGP races ever, which considering the last few seconds of qualifying yesterday, is hardly surprising. Eight bikes battling for the lead for most of the race. I was whooping and shouting at the TV. Exhausting. And just what is Marquez (9
Every angle of Jakub Kornfeil’s barely believable Hollywood moment in Moto3… Just… HOW?! 😱 pic.twitter.com/j5zN7eF1DL — MotoGP on BT Sport (@btsportmotogp) May 20, 2018 This had me leaping off the sofa… Advertiseme
This season just keeps getting more insane. This is only round four and three of the top riders eliminate themselves in a racing incident. Advertisements
It has been nearly a week since the MotoGP race in Argentina which one could say was quite eventful. I think I can say I have never seen a race like it. It is not over yet, the Rossi/Marquez feud is back to boiling point. The rest of the year will be&hell
If all the MotoGP races this year are as good as Losail then it will be a very good year indeed. Advertisements
Well it is the end of 2017. I could post a few photos of my major painting and model building achievements from the last twelve months, but it would take ages to find them in the Loft Full Of Lead, especially as it is currently in Christmas chaos mode. So
Legendary. I reckon he can win eight more World Championships.
It is the last MotoGP race of the year on Sunday, I will have no excuse but to get on with painting stuff after this weekend. Marquez leads the championship and pretty much has to wobble around to win, but he did have his 25th crash in practice/qualifying
