Playtest

Space Schlock Alpha Test at Scrum Palace

Meta note: The crappy pictures are my own from my Ipad.  The nicer ones are courtesy of Ms. Ellen Levy who did a fantastic job of recording the game as usual.  Permission was granted up front. Friend and fellow Scrummer JOHN SEARS (whom you may know from the 1000 Foot General blog) is working on a labor of love called (at least for now) SPACE SCHLOCK.  John will correct me if I get the particulars wrong, but Space Schlock is a small unit skirmish game, with units roughly being 5-10 individual figures plus individually based special characters.  The setting is .. hmm.. well, the kind of B tier science fiction movies from the late 70s or early 80s you would associate with being Star Wars rip-off genre films in a science fiction setting.  Battle Beyond the Stars would be a perfect example. John is working on transitioning from design to development so he requested the able assistance of the Scrummers to do a little Alpha testing.  Four active players showed up so each of us got a s

Dragonmeet 2018

Dragonmeet is always a special con for me, at the end of the year, shortly before my birthday, where I get to play a bunch of games and see lovely boardgame folk that I don't get to normally.  The atmosphere is always so relaxed and so casual that you feel you have time and space to chat and to really browse all that this mini-con has to offer.  Having said that, I always leave the con wishing I had seen and done more.Read more »

Boom! Zap! v 1.1 added to the Digital Rules Library

I have added the playtest for BOOM! Zap! to the 3PoS Digital Library.  I haven’t had a lot of volunteers to help playtest, so this might spur some interest. Boom! Zap! is the spiritual cousin to The Rules with No Name, a western skirmish game that appeared in an old MWAN, long ago.  It covers a wide range of pulp SF skirmishes, in different milieus. I am still working on it, but feel free to download and send feedback.   [contact-form]

Well this has been some time in coming, but I'm very pleased to be posting up today the newest list for my unofficial Battlegroup: Cold War.  This time around it's the first Polish list - focussed on the Polish Motorised Rilfe Divisions of the Pomeranian Military District - the ones that would be primarily involved in heading towards Denmark (with the 15. MRD being assigned the role of the main force to come ashore on Zeeland as the follow-on force to Soviet and Polish Naval Infantry.Anyway - here it is:Polish Motorised Rifle Division Battlegropup 1.1Once again the speed by which this list appeared and most of the heavy lifting is all down to Paul Cziganj whose immense help has meant you are getting this now, not 3 years from now when I could have gotten around to it by myself!  So thanks Paul, once again. So please have a look for yourself.  Download, let me know of any errors or omissions etc and I'll be happy to go back in a revise.Oh yes - I'll now also be adding the Belgian list to the side
