It has been long enough that I have been sitting, brooding on my marble throne until some players gotten "to far out of reach" to catch up with in my TSA League.Whining how I didn't like the game anymore and selling my army etc to make sure I didn't had to refuse challenges, this was the best way to avoid me from having any chance ending in the top spots of a league I created myself. But now, with only 3.5 months of game time to go, in which I can get tops 5 battles in anyways, I'm somewhere in the midfield and it is time to unleash the hurricane of pinks and purples again on the contestants. And the first in my path is a force of Salamanders, who also are fielded by one of the top league players, Wim and have some pretty ccurate shooting build with them. Nevertheless, I'm going the way of high risk, high reward this time (yeah, a bit against my nature) and going with a heavy close combat orientated force. Now, the list I`m taking was made to face Tau, but my opponent had to cancel last moment and W
The big benefit of 6mm is that it paints rather smoothly, and this post I boosted some extra models for my Emperor's Children. After the previous "necessary" batch of Predators and Land Raiders, this batch makes for some nice variation, but not necessary reinforcements per se.The first models, painted in the "pre heresy scheme" of 30k style, are a Spartan (who will be used as a Land Raider as well, but adds some miniature variation in the force, and go to battle in smaller games where I field only one them) and a Sicaran who will get the AA SPG role of the Marine Corps list. Two Razorbacks, as above also 3D prints, are added as well, one with the anti infantry turret and the other with the anti tank one, to have some more cheap support tanks (cheap with Marines being relative of course) for the force. The final addition for this post are three bases of Marines, but this time painted up in the pre Heresy scheme as well, in order to have more variation from the pink and black stands of my regular force. Now the nex
So we went to war again this month, as we battled in the TSA club league. And my opponent was Peter and his Astra Militarum Valhallan force.Success was had as my pink brigade defeated him (more on points then on survivors), resulting in another memento to be added to the ever growing pile.
Back to the battlefield in our TSA League, as past friday I faced the Astra Militarum forces of Peter, a person I hadn't played before in the club.Doling around in the middle of table currently, this battle might get me back in the race for the podium, but then of course it are the Guard, with all their massed tanks and infantry troops, while I will be trying out the reinvigorated Havocs this battle. My force, fielded with the 2.0 codex, was build around a heap of troops legging it to the other side in order to start slaughtering guardsmen (or at least, that is the plan), and Lucius will be joining as such a large mob of chainsword armed Marines.Supporting them will be another Marine squad as well as my beloved Noise Marines. A firebase, gathered around my Warlord for those precious re-rolls consists of two Quad Bolter rapiers, a Hellbrute and said Havocs with two heavy bolters and two chaincannons. My Sorcerer will be lurking nearby for those important Prescience spells, while a squad of Raptors w
Today, I`m having a look at the mini Codex that came in the Wrath and Rapture boxed set, which put Slaanesh and Khorne deamons against each other. Now, the box also has an AoS armybook, but that is for a later overview...The mini Codex is just what it says, a small booklet that includes files, points and all that is needed to field the forces of the two gods against each other, including even scenarios to do so, or to take them along to the battlefield.Bear in mind that there is not really anything new on the units front, bar the two characters (one each for Khorne and Slaanesh). The scenarios also come with some special Stratagems that can be used in them, to put some twists into your games as a result. As for the Points Values, they ONLY are included for the units in the box of course, not for any other forces of both factions. For that, you will need the "dedicated" Chaos Daemons one.But all in all, a nice and handy booklet for sure, and it let's you play perfectly with your forces against (or together)
The past month saw the Emperor's Children march to war once again. And this time, it was in our club League.I faced the Drukhari and came victorious, and while the force wasn`t painted completely yet, I based my trophy on the black / red / gold scheme the painted parts of his force already featured.A second battle put me against Mike's Orks, and I decided to use the red and blue colours for the trophy in "honour" of his Gorkanought which caused me a lot of headaches. So a decent month, with two trophies offered to the Prince of Pleasure...
The past friday I took to the field again in the club league that I'm running at TSA, facing Mike with his Orks. And the game would become the final one using the current Codex Heretic Astartes, as the new and updated edition should be arriving by post next week.Of course, I had Iwan throw the dice for the scenario, and becursed he rolled Cloak and Shadows, so for the second time out of three league games so far my gunline will be hampered with the -1 to hit.I had brought along the same force as I did against the Drukhari a few weeks ago, but my suprise was big when Mike unpacked his force... barely 25 boys and a lot of big war engines, including a "squiggoth" spider and a Gorkanought, including aerial support and all.To make matter worse, he would have the first turn as he was actually faster deployed then me as a result, and stuffed the big walker in reserve...Turn 1The Orks began their advance, hellbend on taking out my Rapier platforms as soon as possible. And he did, destroying both the laser destro
It's been a while due to the AHPC, but here is the first model for my 40k force painted up this year. And it's the commander for my Renegades and Heretics Slaanesh force. The model itself is actually one of the Freebooter's Fate fantasy pirate range, but I exchanged his scabberded sword with a plasmapistol, to represent him with this mighty pistol as well as a power sword.Taking more inspiration from the Italians in the second world war, where the officers in the desert theatre wore white uniforms with the necessary 'flouf', Iwent for an exorbirant colour scheme of adding pastel blues and purples to the uniform. Lapels, plumes, they all got this flashy treatment to make him really stand out as such. Now to start work on some more heavy guns for the force...
Past friday, I took to the field of battle for my second League game, and this time I didnt forget any troops so to claim the League's fully painted bonus hehehe. My opponent was Steven, long time club member who I've only faced before in fantasy battles. The Emperor's Children consisted of a warlord in Terminator armour, a sorcerer and a dark apostle, a squad of Marines with 2 flamers, 10 Noise Marines, 2 units of 20 Cultists, 2 Helbrutes, a Predator and a Rapier battery consisting of 2 quad bolters and 1 laser destroyer.Opposing me where the Kabal, cnsiting of 2 archons, a succubus and a heamonculus. A raider and a venom both carried kabalite warriors, supported by Mandrakes, Wracks, 2 Talos and a Chronos, Reaver jetbikes, Hellions and Scourges, and a unit with heavy weapons. The scenario we rolled on was Spoils of War, and so we set up for what will become a very bloody battle.Turn 1I went first, and moved some units a bit forward to be sure to camp on some objectives should those cards come out.
A great alternate model for Fulgrim, the primarch of the Emperor's Children. While I have the Forge World model, this one is better suited for all day handling on the battlefield, costing only 21 euro.A good looking model, it will definitly go on the painting row after the AHPC is done...
Well, it has been a while since I got a game in with my Slaaneshi forces, but this month I managed to take to the field and bring victory for the Dark Princess. As part of the League, I took up arms against the Ravenguard chapter of the Space Marines, and victory was obtained... albeit barely. As a result, I copied his bolter design to be offered on the trophy rack.I also participated in the loval GW store`s Warp Storm tournament, the first one I played in after 7 years. But alas, nothing was won there and the Dark princess was kept on her hunger...
Past saturday, the 23th, I joined in my first tournament ever since the Battle of Small Armies for Warhammer in 2012.In a venue I have never gamed before, being the local Games Workshop store, the Warpstorm tournament was organised. So that gave me a chance to face three new opponents in all probability, some armies I might not have faced before, and see how rusty I am.The selection criteria for the tournament force where as followed:A 500pts army that follows the matched play and organised play rules. In addition you must bring a minimum of 1 patrol detachment that has a min requirement of 2 troops instead of 1 for this tournament. Armies also have to be painted and forgeworld is allowed.Following these rules, the force I fielded consisted of a Sorcerer, who was also my Warlord. He comes with his Force Stave and Bolt Pistol, drank the Elixer for +1 S and A, and has the Unholy Fortitude trait for a further 1 wound and ignore wounds on 6+...The Troop choices where 5 Noise Marines with a blastmaster and a
I did say in the previous post the next one was going tone big and it was a secret... a Keeper of Secrets!!This is a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh from Games WorkshopWhy on Earth am I painting a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh? Well that's a bit of a secret too... it TOTALLY HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE WRATH & GLORY GAMES CAMPAIGN I'M RUNNING! (Shhhhh.... Nothing to see here, carry on!)My Heretic Astartes Kill Team are pretty obvious Slaanesh disciples and if I were ever to expand that into a 40K Detachment - they're end up being Emperor's Children or something similar. Actually if I were to ever do a 40K Chaos force, I'd probably be more interested in a Daemon Host - with maybe a few Chaos Space Marines and Cultists... I've got the Greater Daemon now!I did a bit of converting on this beastie... this is a close up of said conversions. The original model came with a loin cloth. I always wondered why a Greater Daemon of Slaanesh - the Chaos God of Excesses - would bother with a loin cloth...?To give you a sen
So, two times the Emperor's Children went to battle this month, and while one ended in disaster, the other yielded another trophy to the godess of Pleasure.Massacred by the Custodes, the Pink Phalanx took it's vengeance on a bunch of Bad Moon Orks and Grots the week after. To that end, a small piece of a choppa, as the battle was decided in melee, has been added to the pile of defeated enemies.
Okay, so "grots" is just a fancy name for Tom DG's excellent Ork army list, featuring as many grot units as possible alongside a trainload of conversions. And he issued a challenge to see how it will perform, and Fulgrim answered the call. Now, I took along exactly the same army list as versus the Custodes last week. Not because they have to redeem themselves, but because I didn't get along unpacking my force anyways the past days, so it is the same composition for me as seen HERE.The Grot horde consisted of all of the following... (mind you, a lot of the units are actually Orks, but are converted to be Gretchin models).A Warlord, 2 Runtherdz, a Weirdboy, a Big Mek, 2 blocks of Gretchin, a unit of Choppa Boyz, a unit of shoota boyz, a unit of loota boyz, a unit of burna boyz, 4 grot tanks, a grot battle wagon, a dreadnought and a big cannon. After the forces deployed over the table, we where ready for the Tactical Escalation scenario, in which I had chosen "Purge" and my opponent "Take and Hold".The Empero
