Took a little break from painting my Convergence army to work on this Thagrosh conversion. Always loved the model but the wings that come with the model are a bit on the small side. I chose to use the wings from a Warhammer 40k Tyranid Hive Tyrant model. They are quite large, maybe even a bit too large but I think that's okay. It completely changes the look of the model. It took me a fair bit of time to slowly remove material from the model's shoulders and the wings in order to get the fit and pose I was looking for. It came out pretty good and I'm looking forward to putting some paint on it.
Ian is back and prepping his lists for the OTC! I take on his Khador led by Malakov 1 in this 75pt game of ‘Standoff’ from Steamroller 2018.
This has been a welcome and useful new piece in the Clockwork Legions theme and a nice model to boot. There's no reason not to include at least one in any CL list.
Getting caught up on posts for painting progress. Two units of Obstructors finished. These guys have been getting lots of play in my Clockwork Legions lists. Getting closer to having the entirety of the faction fully painted.
Still cracking away at the faction and more specifically my caster for my Clockwork Legions list, Father Lucant.Next up will be my two units of Obstructors to round out the list and my pairing for Captaincon in a few weeks.
Got two of these units cranked out in record time for my Lucant Clockwork Legions list. Looking forward to getting in more games with these guys.
The other day the Facebook Page for "Warmachine Weekend" changed names to "Warfaire Weekend" and a lot of people were asking about this. After this past "Warmachine Weekend", it was announced that Carl who has been running it from the beginning was letting go of "Warmachine Weekend" and there was a new team taking over the duties. Chris and Gonzo stepped up to plate and will now be running "Warmachine Weekend", well actually "Warfaire Weekend". Last night at 8:00 PM EST, Chris and Gonzo held a Facebook Live Q&A session to answer anyone's questions and explain a little bit about "Warfaire Weekend".In the picture, the first thing you may notice (besides the name) is that date of "Warfaire Weekend" will be November 8th-10th. The past few years the event has been the first weekend of November, but it looks like for 2019 it will be the second.Onto the name change. Having a fresh start for the event, Chris and Gonzo thought it would also be a perfect time for a name change, the nam
Getting my Clockwork Legions list all finished up and no Clockwork Legion's list would be complete without Enigma Foundries. Should have my Lucant list all finished up in the next couple weeks just in time for Captaincon.
Hello! I have collected over 2200 unpublished photos of miniatures, divided into one hundred and fifty folders. This is the amount that I have left after a strict selection. I’ll certainly make some more cuts, but there’ll be enough material for months of entries. In today’s post I would like to present you with a unit of Winter Guard for the army of Khador. It is the basic infantry of this faction. In this case with a sergeant and a flagship. The colours are rather dark, heavily weathered. I painted it a long time ago and it is the only unit of Khador, which I finished for my army Tufts of grass from my favorite company Paint Forge. To the next time! This model's name is ridiculous and more than a mouthful to say. Painted up two of these and will be using one or both in my Iron Mother list.
Cranking along trying to get my two lists all painted and finished in time for Captaincon in a month......
Happy New Year 2019!One of my favorite posts of the year where I lay out my plans for 2019 and try to stick to them without swaying too far. Last year I kept it a bit realistic and I was happy with my outcome. With the additions of a few games in 2018, 2019 may be a bit more of a full plate for me.As with last year, my plan for painting will continue to break down my queue in calendar quarters, I think this worked very well for me and made my queue a bit more manageable. As of now, these are the games that are of interest for 2019, in alphabetical order.Arena RexPainting Goal: I still have quite a few models in my backlog for Arena Rex (11). I honestly feel it may be a doable goal to have these all completed, as long as I do not add anymore to the backlog. I think as long as I stick to the two Ludus' that I have, this goal should be completed (especially if one the games way down below takes a back burner). Once these get completed (maybe by GenCon in August) then I may add
This is a Cryx Seether I painted a while ago. One thing I did was not to put all the spikes atop the frame to reveal the glowing green beneath. I originally thought about using it with Starfinder. I had a partial setting idea that would require a number of dreadnaught/ warjacks. However, as I gave up on that game, the idea just went stale... When I think of a scifi game that excites me, I'll roll that one out.
There are two blog posts that I enjoy writing the most each year, the first one is my "What's in store for" (next year), and the second one is my "Year in Review".2018 started with a "What's in store for 2018" so we will use that post as basis for our year in review.Guild Ball2018Painting Goal: This is a tough one. I would love to say to be able to complete every Guild Ball model that I have so that all Guilds are completed. It is doable since I currently probably have around 40 models left to complete. I have the new six for both the Farmer's and Blacksmith's, the second six for the Brewer's and the remaining are for my Mortician's and Union. I do have a few one off's left (Smoke and Lucky) and I am wrapping up Skatha for my son's Hunter's Guild. I think realistically I will shoot to complete the Farmer's, Blacksmith's and Brewer's (along with the few one off's). This will give me some room for some of the new Minor Guilds that will be released in 2018.Gaming Goal:&n
