It has been a pretty busy day today with "real" work that I almost forgot about my Weekly Chronicle.Unfortunately the gaming side of the hobby was at lull last week with 0 games played, we had to spend time outside of the house over the weekend (bug fuming) that it did not leave much time to play. Hopefully this week we should be able to squeeze in a game, even if it is for X-Wing.The painting side was a really good week. If you back at my blog posts, you will see 8 models were completed, and they were all for the Batman Miniature Game. This week I have a few more BMG models, then I need to decide what Crew I will be tackling next.Games Played: 0Models Completed: 8
I would have to say that Week #27 was a pretty decent week for me. With the 4th of July Holiday on Thursday, it allowed for a couple more games to be played and I was able to get quite a few models completed.First off I finished the last 2 models from the "Bane: Venom Overdrive" Bat-Box with 'Sharp Shooter' and 'Elite Op'. Once that Bat-Box was completed, it was time to move onto my new "Dark Knight Rises Game Box" and I started on the Brave and the Bold models first, completed all 3 'Agent' cops and 'Alfred Pennyworth'. This week we will finish the remaining 2 models, 'Catwoman' and 'Batman' and move onto the League of Assassins/Bane models.Onto some gaming, 4 games were played this week, which has been the most in a long time. On Thursday we played a game of Guild Ball (which I barely squeaked out a victory with a few seconds remaining), followed by a game of X-Wing. Both of these games we will be playing at the NOVA Open at the end of August, so we need to start and get some m
So, I’m picking up the occasional ship for X-Wing still when cheap, with 2nd edition now out it’s easier to get the cards than the models, so a bit of creative licence might be in the offing. So I picked up the spruce of plastic ships from EM4 Miniatures. I’m mainly trying to get a small Scum & Villainy selection, so a bit of a ragtag feel would not go amiss. As you can see, some could work for smaller stuff like the M3-A Interceptor (the pic below is the best comparison I could find online and puts the M3-A at about the length of the Y-Wing engine), or with a bit work a Kihraxz fighter. The more true to scale A-Wing is comparable, and the scaleable Snowspeeder from the Hoth ERTL kits suggest a possible source of Scum speeders for Ground Assault as well. The unpainted X-Wing from the same Hoth kits will eventually make some decent Z-95 Headhunters.
Well today is July 1st and we are half way through 2019 and the start of the 3rd Quarter for my Painting Queue. Since keeping track of individual quarters, this past quarter was the most models I have completed in a 3 month span (58 models completed) and that does not count for any of the terrain I had built. The terrain that was built does count for my Painting Points, and as of now I have already surpassed 2017 and 2018. I should be able to finish the year with the second most points ever (I think 2010 will be untouchable since I no longer play/collect/paint horde type games/armies).This past week looks like it was an average week for me, 2 models were completed for my "Bane: Venom Overdrive" Bat-Box, leaving just 2 more models to finish the box, and a game of BMG was also played this past Saturday. This week I should be able to complete the Bane Bat-Box and start prepping a few more models, I just have to decide on what is next.Gaming wise, I should also be able to squeeze in a second/thir
Week #25 for 2019 was a so-so week for me. For painting, I was able to get 4 models posted for the Batman Miniature Game with just a couple ready for this week (I did fall a little behind this week). In gaming news, only one game was played this Friday night, X-Wing (no Battle Report). I thought since we are playing X-Wing at this years NOVA Open at the end of August, we still need to get a few more games of practice in (so I can work out what list I want to play there). I am hoping this week for another game of X-Wing, and then maybe Saturday afternoon get in another game of Batman Miniature Game. This week is the last week for the second Quarter of 2019 (and the second Quarter was really good this year), let see how many more models I can squeeze in before the week is over.Boba Fett getting the win in X-Wing for the Scum & VillainyModels Completed: 4Games Played: 1
I am pretty happy with the week I had for Week #19 of 2019. I was able to get some models completed, and still get a few games in over the weekend.First up is the models completed for the week. Shockingly I was able to finish my entire Cook's Minor Guild for Guild Ball (besides the 2 Limited Edition models). My goal was to originally just finish 'Cinnamon' and 'Roast' so they can be played with my Butcher's Guild, but I just kept on going and finished the remaining 4 models to complete the box of 6. By doing so though meant I did not paint any models for Batman Miniature Game.Friday night I took the evening to finish up on my Circus Themed table for BMG needing only to complete the Big Top Stage and Circus Wagons, now that table completed and ready for gaming. The the weekend came and it was time to get a few games in (mixed in with some chores). First up on Saturday was a game of X-Wing and playing my Millennium Falcon list up against 4 T-65 X-Wings, it was the first loss for tha
"Monday, Monday, so good to me"It was a pretty good week for me last week and this week will be even better with AdeptiCon 2019 starting in just 2 days on Wednesday. Check-in begins Wednesday night and all the gaming and shopping begins on Thursday.Let's recap week #12 first before we move onto this week. Although I did not play any games during the week, I did manage to get in 2 games of X-Wing on Saturday and 2 games of Guild Ball on Sunday, those 4 games were very much needed for this week events.I also managed to get some painting done with completing 2 models and started work on a 3rd. Limited Edition 'Mataagi' for the Falconer's Guild and the new Captain 'Mourn' for the Mortician's Guild were completed this past week. Now we move onto the biggest event of the year, AdeptiCon 2019, and I am so looking forward to attending this year. AdeptiCon 2019 which is in it's 17th year, will actually be my 10th year attending. I missed out on the very first AdeptiCon 2002, but started at
Yesterday my son and I played 2 games of X-Wing to get a little more practice for the X-Wing System Open Qualifier at AdeptiCon next Friday. My son will not be playing in X-Wing (but instead Batman) but he still got in a few games for my much needed practice.Last time I played a couple weeks back, I was testing a "Fat Han" list with just Han Solo and Wedge, a 2 ship list (Hyperspace legal), but since the AdeptiCon event is a System Open Qualifier and is an Extended Format event, I decided to change a few things up by putting Han on a diet and squeezing in a Bandit Squadron Pilot Z-95 ship.Game 1:My List:Han Wedge Bandit v1.0(82) Han Solo [Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter](5) Nien Nunb(8) Perceptive Copilot(6) Veteran Turret Gunner(5) Lone Wolf(6) Millennium FalconPoints: 112(52) Wedge Antilles [T-65 X-wing](2) R4 Astromech(0) Servomotor S-foils(5) Hull Upgrade(6) OutmaneuverPoints: 65(23) Bandit Squadron Pilot [Z-95-AF4 Headhunter]Points: 23Total points: 200My Son:Luke Wedge Norra(62) Luke Skywalker [T-
Today March 21st marks the release of Wave III for X-Wing 2.0. Since the release of X-Wing 2.0 I have not really purchased that many new ships. Back in Wave 1 I did purchase 'Lando's Millennium Falcon' and couple of 'Fang Fighters', but other than that, my son and I have been playing with our ships (with new upgrades) from 1.0.There is not really too much also that interests me from today's release of Wave III except for maybe the 'Sith Infiltrator Expansion Pack', this one will come with a pilot card for 'Darth Maul'.Seeing how AdeptiCon is less than a week away, more than likely any purchases my son and I make we will just wait for AdeptiCon.Here is a list of ships for the the Wave III release:Servants of Strife Squadron PackSith Infiltrator Expansion PackVulture-class Droid Fighter Expansion PackGuardians of the Republic Squadron PackARC-170 Starfighter Expansion PackDelta-7 Aethersprite Expansion Pack
Week #11 for 2019 is now in the books and it was a "good" week, not bad, not great, just good.Wednesday night I was able to throw down my Navigator's Guild and get in a game vs Hunter's, and on Friday I was actually able to finish painting another model for my Butcher's Guild with the new 'Veteran Boar'.Then on Saturday I hosted my first ever Guild Ball Tournament down in South Bend, IN and I think it was very successful. We had 15 players come out for the event, and I hope everyone had a good time. What is in store for this week? I have a 'Mataagi' for the Hunter's Guild that I think my son is going to want me to finish for AdeptiCon, not sure if it will be completed but it will be close, and then we still need to practice practice practice. We have no major plans coming up this weekend, so it may be a perfect time to get in quite a few Guild Ball and X-Wing games in before AdeptiCon, we shall see....
Since I have gotten back into X-Wing with the release of 2.0 back in September, I have been looking around for some compact tournament trays to hold our movement sticks and ships while moving tables in between rounds. There were some European companies that had some very nice acrylic ones, but the ship trays were not yet updated to 2.0 (adding a medium sized ship), I noticed the same thing while looking for some made out of MDF here in the US.Then last week I decided to take another look at Mini Duels (I knew that I had made MDF trays and are US based) and came across a compact X-Wing try that now had slots for medium sized ships and was exactly what I was looking for. So I decided to go ahead and order 2 sets (one for me and one for my son) and was hoping it would be here in time for AdeptiCon.Well shipping was quick and last Friday my trays arrived and I assembled/glued them that night. Yesterday I decided to take some time and paint them up black like I did with my Guild Ball tray. The trays are
I just wrapped up Week #10 for 2019 and once again it has been a so-so week.Nothing was completed from the Painting Queue, but 'Veteran Boar' was assembled and some of the base colors are being applied. My goal is to have him completed by AdeptiCon, but realistically it should not take that long, hopefully within the next week or two he should be completed.I was happy to get in 2 games over the weekend, another refresher for X-Wing (which was a difficult loss) and another Guild Ball game with a 'Veteran Boar' stand-in.This coming Saturday March 16th is my first event as a SFG Pundit and there will be a Guild Ball Tournament at Fantasy Games in South Bend, IN.There are still 2 spots remaining and you can signup up on Longshanks.I'll more than likely do a quick recap of the event on Sunday morning.Other than that, only 16 days till AdeptiCon 2019, and I think it will be a pretty good time.
Yesterday morning I was able to get in another practice game with my "Fat Han" list against my son (though it turned out it was not much practice with the Falcon). I asked my son if he could fly a Tie list so I could see how well my 2 ship list would hold up against multiple ships.I made a slight change to my list from my last game, dropping R2-D2 for Perceptive Copilot. My "Fat Han" List v1.1:Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter - •Han Solo - 132Han Solo - Scoundrel for Hire (82) Lone Wolf (5) Nien Nunb (5) Perceptive Copilot (8) Millennium Falconn(6) Luke Skywalker (26)T-65 X-wing - •Wedge Antilles - 66 Wedge Antilles - Red Two (52) Outmaneuver (6) R4 Astromech (2) Shield Upgrade (6) Servomotor S-foils (Closed) (0)Total: 198/200Son's Empire List:TIE/ln Fighte

We are into the first week of March and the first quarter of the year is almost over and I seem to be behind in my gaming and way behind in my painting. All honesty regarding the painting, I am actually okay with that. My main game that I am playing is Guild Ball, and my favorite Guild (Butcher's) and my son's Guild (Hunter's) are all completed (for now). My Butcher's Guild will be receiving 'Veteran Boar' this week, and shortly there after I should be receiving 'Steeljaw' for the Hunter's, so both of these models will then hit the painting table. I then need to decide what I am doing with the Cook's Minor Guild, I really want to have 'Roast' and 'Cinnamon' completed so they can play with the Butcher's, but then I might as well get the rest of the Cook's completed.Last week was not actually too bad in both departments. I was able to paint up the 3D Goals we received from Bourbon Trail Open IV, and I was able to get in games of Destiny, X-Wing and Guild Ball last week. More t
