A friend of mine gave me a set of painted Young Ones models, another reason for me to get some zombies painted, as these models would be cool as a group of (misfit) survivors. Does anyone NOT know the British TV series?
Another zombie movie, I'm a little bored with zombie movies these days, well never fear in this one they are called "hungries", a fungal infection zombie movie, the story set 20 years after the outbreak on a British outpost manned by military/scientists, experimenting on zombie children who have not yet descended too far into the zombie infection, outpost is then breached, journey to find safety, etc.....Melanie who is our zombie girl/star and does steal the show ahead of everyone else ( even Gemma Arterton), the movie follows a predictable story line except for certain ideas like our smell (big issue), the fungus and maybe the ending (bloody fungus)......Paddy Considine plays a world weary British army sergeant..........Glenn Close plays rabid scientist trying to save humanity......All in all worth a watch if you like the genre, based on a 2014 book by M.R Carey!A fungus is a eukaryote that digests food externally and absorbs nutrients directly through its cell walls. Most fungi reproduce

Hi guysThis is my WIP war rig for all Post Apoc scenarios, sorry, forgot to take pics before I base coated it, I masked the flames of the original cab because they were just to cool to waste, the drivers cab actually looks like the bonnet of that car, it has a cage over the windows, the prime movers cab and engine are an amalgamation of 2 Matchbox/Hotwheels cars, the wheels and undercarriage of the cab and trailer is from a WWII 1/72nd Trumpeter Dragon Wagon, the trailer upper is from a cheap truck trailer and a Matchbox van cut in half for the fighting compartments, one of the pics has the seat area for the van with MG and gunner, I also have a couple of loose figures to man the trailer defences (that are among my survivor conversions in an earlier post)

Hi guysReview of set 1 can be seen hereI will be calling this the "funnies" set, set 1 contained mostly generic foot soldier types, set 2 contains some specialist types, the body proportions, poses and sculpting are all as good as set 1, and has the same firm sand coloured plastic, again with 12 poses for 48 figures. The breakdown of each 12 man sprue of set 1 wasAssault rifles - 6Shot guns - 3pistol totters - 1 (double pistols)sword swingers - 1 (double swords)mini gunners - 1 (massive guy with a cigar and mohawk)males - 11Females - 1gas masks - 4The breakdown of each 12 man sprue of set 2 isAssault rifle - 1Sniper rifles - 2arrow shooters - 2 (1 bow 1 crossbow)LMG - 1Grenade launcher - 1Shotguns - 3pistoleros - 1 (also has an axe)Machete swingers -1 ( also has a machine pistol)Leader with Binos - 1Males - 11Females - 1exoskeletons - 2gas masks - 3Set 1 had a few figures that could be used for modern PMCs of special forces, set 2 has a much more sci fi/Post apoc feel, although the 2 sets fit perfectly with ea
Hi guysThis is the first in a 4 part review series of the Dark Alliance 1/72nd scale Post Apocalypse sets, Stalkers 1, Stalkers 2, Survivors, and Rednecks, this is the Stalker 1 set, there are 12 poses and 48 figures (this is the same for all 4 sets). The poses are excellent, all useful and nothing is wasted IMHO, the figs all have good physical proportions and all look natural, interestingly they are all of different heights and proportions but do not look out of scale with each other, the largest figure is the mini gun guy 25mm from soles of feet to eyes, the others range from 21-24mm, 1/72nd plastics have certainly come a long way, the sculpting on these guys is sublime, and they do not have that horrible 2D flatness that a lot of sets have. The plastic is a sand colour, I have sprayed white and given a black wash to pick out the detail for you, I have not trimmed any flash, so the moulding is excellent, they are a brand new release, so lets hope this continues on for a long time, the plastic is quite firm,

Hi guys24 Stalker conversions for my post apoc project, (I have Dark Alliance Stalkers sets 1 and 2 on order) but had made these before I even knew about those sets, anyway, more the merrier, these are a mix of a few different sets, WWII, modern Russians, and lots of putty. Next post will be cars.
All Hallows Eve is nearly upon us, so time to raise the dead and dust off the Elizabethan forces for a club zombie outing. Three groups of the living, The English looking to rescue their comrades from the clutches of the evil Spanish, The Spaniards have landed in England looking to cleanse the land they have heard rumours of witches holding the locals in their evil grasp and finally the locals seeking to secure their food stocks before the opposing armies loot them....The only problem all objectives are in the barn unknown to each player.....Each player selects a table edge to approach the village, no cadavers are in sight, but each player is aware that the village is surrounded by six burial pits and any noise will awaken the dead. The Spanish head down the road on mass believing in safety in numbers. However this only serves to awaken the plague victims as the ground gives up the recently passed. The English fair little better as the burial mound spits out its content driving them towards the village. The Engl
Hi guysI now have a new laptop, so I will resume posting, though I am thinking of posting less of my commissions (restricting to only posting new subjects)I have wanted to do a post apoc project for a long time, I have a collection in 2 scales 15mm and 1/72, but due to matchbox/hotwheels 1/72 is a better option, so I have started converting figures, I want to cover all sub genres, road warrior, stalker, zombie apoc, near future asymetric war fare, here are some zombie survivor types, my next post will be converted stalker types, as is always the way, after I worked on these Dark Alliance released 4 boxes of figs Stalkers 1 and 2, red necks and survivors, I have ordered all these boxes and will do a review when they arrive. So I have gone for a mix of walking dead, left 4 dead and generic characters in the first pic I haveFigs 1- Rochelle L4D 3- Louis L4D 6- Nick L4D 7- was going to be Louis but I have him so maybe coach Fig 1-Sophia WD 2-Carol WD 3-Carl version 1 WD 4-Rosita WD 5-Daryl WD 6-Michonne WD 7-
It is fair to say that I am a bit of a Blood Bowl fanboy. Even when it was out of production I was still buying the odd team of eBay. I have my favorites but my first love was The Champions of Death. When the third edition came out I was too skint to buy it so I made my own out of what I had available. Possibly my first conversion project and it has to be said it was pretty bad.The latest release from GW is my old favorite. If somewhat slow they are a reasonably robust team that can soak up punishment. What I liked about them the most was the ability to resurrect a the team players from your opponents if you killed them, which happens a lot more often. This means you can fill up your players bench quite quickly in a competition. Sadly it's skeletons not zombies.Having only seen a video and one picture I have already presumed that this will be my next project when I get round to buying it at least. Whilst I am a big fan of the whole range, this team, like the other recent releases, is amazing. The YouTube Vide
I frequently talk about Dave Gorman when it's my Birthday and his view on whether or not you get presents or gifts and this year I am happy to say it has been a lot Osprey published gifts. What do I mean by the difference between presents and gifts?Possibly the most disturbing picture of all timeWe have all had gifts, the perennial favorites seem to be socks and scarves. Gifts are usually something that you might use. Or Maybe not. Socks and scarves are the epitome of gifts. I mean who doesn't need a few more socks and a scarf on cold days? I have a set of shot glasses somewhere that were a gift. They are still in their original box, unopened, which is currently in another box, in another box in the attic. Gifts are not fun, they lack imagination and are usually given out of a sense of duty with the easiest thing be brought.Presents are something special. People have gone to an effort to find something that you like, even if it's just asking you what you want. This even applies to things that make you go WTF?
The Blue Bomber Biker Gang has infringed on Vince’s territory during their last scavenging run. which group of violent goons will emerge on top in this encounter?!
Last Saturday was the second Saturday of the month, and therefore time for a Scrum club game– at the standard location. The month being chill, the time was now for a Halloween themed game. When it comes to horror games, it seems as if zombies are the go-to scenario. Frankly, I can’t think of a better one. I’ve been in many a zombie game, and if you want a scenario that’s going to play out in four hours or less, you want something with simple rules and a lot of space to run. Fortunately, we had both of those– which is odd.. zombie games are something I associate with 28mm figures, myself.. it just seems to be the defacto choice. Joe, however, has made a horde of 15mm zombies, a small (HO scale) town, and some survivors. The whole thing fit on the same board that Sellswords and Spellslingers fit on, and used the same coordinate system. That was the system Joe P. was using for Conan, remember? Well, it should be familiar. RUN FROM THE DEAD uses pretty much the same rule
